To All Muslims Who May Want To Read This

Okay, before we continue (if you even bother to read this at all), I’d like to make one thing clear: I do NOT hate you. I have nothing against you or your family. You have every right to live on this country as do I and my family. We are cousins after all, are we not? You too are a descendant of Father Abraham, or “Ibrahim” as you call him in your Qu’ran, just as we Christians are and so are the Jews. Oh, alright, I guess my beliefs in Gnosticism does make me a “black sheep” of sorts to my Christian family but that’s beside the point.

Anyway, if you’ve even bothered to read this far and not condemn this article as hate speech, I want to say that I’m not going to bash you or your beliefs. What I want is to have just a quiet little chat, if that’s at all possible. Just a good talk between cousins to square things out between the two of us.

islamLook, there’s a lot of crap going on down south but relax, I’m not condemning you. You probably aren’t part of that just as I’m not one of the Philippine government’s goons. What I will say is that the people causing trouble down there are related, through their religion, to you. Well, you can also say that Cardinal Torquemada is also related to me because he was once a Cardinal in my Church, but then again a lot of my fellow Christians (at least the ones who are familiar with the name, anyway) are also horrified by the acts of the Spanish Inquisition and let’s not forget that Hitler himself was Catholic or at least raised as one anyway.

Besides, the unpleasantness down south aren’t the only things that’s gotten everybody riled up. There was the bombing in Australia and then there were those cartoonists in France. Look, I know that you’re going to say that you’re not like those people and maybe I’ll believe you. The fact remains though that a lot of my fellow Christians (and non-Christians for that matter) are suspicious of you. It’s because all the crap that’s being thrown around right now is usually thrown by your fellows who are constantly screaming your Prophet’s Name.

There’s nothing wrong with your religion, mind you. I know a bit about your religious lore and I find it every bit as beautiful as my own. However, with the way your rowdy and violent siblings are doing, my brothers and sisters can’t help but be cautious about you and your activities.

We know that you have a problem with our government. I mean heck, we do too. This country is going to the birds and they’re all behaving like European teens at a rave, I tell you (hey, at least some of those teens are cute). Anyway, we know that you don’t like them very much but letting your siblings attack our troops isn’t going to sit well with the rest of us. Many of us already hate you. They label you “rebel” or “terrorist” the moment they see you but I won’t judge you.

I’ve met some of you who aren’t bad but that doesn’t change the fact that some of your siblings seem to enjoy kidnapping, robbing and killing my brothers and sisters down south. I know that all of you aren’t radicals or violent people just as not all Christians are into torturing heretics and burning witches. But you see, the problem lies with the fact that your unscrupulous fellows are all we see and none of you seem to be doing anything about them. It’s like you’re deliberately allowing them to run rampant like a bunch of mad dogs.

I know you guys have families too and I know you love your kids just as we love ours but come on, I’m not going to gamble with the lives of my siblings. You have a Golden Rule too, right? So, if you continue to just allow your hate-maddened brothers and sisters terrorize us, my siblings might soon have to resort to unpleasant methods just to bring those troubles to an end. C’mon, this has been going on for decades now and a lot of my siblings are getting tired of this stupidity.

I don’t want trouble. I don’t want more people to get hurt if it can at all be helped. I don’t want things to escalate to the point that we’re all going to have to start carrying guns. I’m not very good with one and on my first try at the shooting range, the recoil sent my 9mm pistol hurtling into my face and almost broke my nose.

So please, I am begging you, help us help you. Please work with us so maybe we can finally do something about our government and finally bring peace to our beloved homeland. The thing is, we keep trying to reach a helping hand to you guys but your rebellious fellows try taking potshots at it. This isn’t working so I was thinking maybe you guys have a better idea on how to put an end to all this mess.

Let’s work together for the future of our country. Work with us and our country will be a glorious nation that will make its former glories seem like an after thought. C’mon guys, help us end the nightmare so that all our children can live in peace and prosperity.

Regards,

Grimwald

P.S.: I am more than a little baffled by the naming conventions of your rowdy siblings. Are they really that crazy? I mean “MILF”? I find it really hard to take them seriously with such imaginative names. Do they do that deliberately? If they’re going to continue antagonizing us they should at least come up with less humorous names…

  1. You who worship false gods will all be cast down.
If you want to talk as a man open your heart to Allah and his word, inshallah.

Any who oppose our god we will destroy, any who ignore his teachings will be cast down in the dirt with the scum.

The new age is here! We will win because we embrace death as it means we will meet our lord, while you cowards cling to this life knowing there is noing for you in the next.

      1. Benji is not a Muslim, he’s just an asshole with terrorist intentions. Say hello to NBI and PNP when they knock on your door. Good thing getrealphilippines don’t have the option to delete posts, Benjie’s statements can be served as evidence.

        1. I’ll do you one better — how can these two, as beholden to dogma as they are, ever hope to understand each other? Through time, till age turns them to skin and bones? By Shammgod, we ain’t rich in time. No one is.

      1. — and then Benji’s kids will call for jihad, and then your kids will raise a crusade, and then their kids will each go off shooting each other in the name of one’s God and the other’s Allah, and so on and so forth, till one or both sides are eliminated — at ang sunod?

        May kasunod pa?

    1. I worship the god of peace and reconciliation through accommodation and compromise (well, technically I’m an atheist, but I’m all for tolerance and the redress of grievances).

You — who do you worship? A god who you think has decreed that all who don’t believe in him are scum and must die? Then ask your god why he had to create me only to be shot to death — is it to test your faith, hoping that by shooting me to death you develop a taste for the blood of the infidel?

If that is the god you think you ought to worship, then I am justified in not bowing to such a crazy asshole. If not, then there is more to discuss — for reconciliation is possible only if one side is willing to consider the other as someone worth talking to.

    2. nobody is picking on your god/allah. Its your brother muslim terrorist who are killers, idiot scum of the earth. You go out to war over thier terroristic ways? Then you are no diffrent from them. So we are right all along that muslim people are terrorists

      1. Well, I think what Grimwald meant was that if the Muslim insurgents would reach that level where they go beyond their domain and try to grab many provinces as possible, then the ordinary citizens may have to arm themselves to stop their advance. His thoughts are quite far-fetched and will never happen, in my opinion. There maybe a greater chance China will invade us than the Muslim insurgents from South Mindanao.

        1. His thoughts are quite far-fetched and will never happen, in my opinion. There maybe a greater chance China will invade us than the Muslim insurgents from South Mindanao.
          ========
Who knows what’s going to happen? All I know is that it is far more far-fetched that China will invade us than be assured that the Muslim insurgents will not salivate for the whole of Mindanao or whatever out there is available.

You see, China has to have reason first, political or militarily, etc., to invade us. The Muslim insurgents don’t need no reason to do that. They’re already here and they’re well armed.

To have a “will never happen” mentality while a bunch of hate-driven deranged fanatics is knocking on your doorsteps is a recipe for disaster.

        2. Now that’s fear-mongering, jameboy. They’re here and they’re well-armed — so? Does that mean they’ll just attack Luzon and the Visayas knowing scarcely why? That they’ll just invade and occupy for the joy seeing people in pain? That deep down, they don’t have deeply borne grievances from seeing their near and dear picked up and/or shot at — that they’re just insane and deranged?

Are you still talking of humans here, same as us in our grief and spite? Or are you talking of phantoms, of strawmen, in your lust for the war that you will never wage, never bear arms for? For it is extremely easy in our case to clamor for war: we can be as rabid as we like, we can be as full of feeling as we like, we can hate, pour our hatred — we can do all that in the privacy and comfort of our homes, coddled by loved ones. Extremely easy, very extremely easy indeed — we don’t get shot at, we don’t see blood, we don’t see bodies or lift them up, we don’t scream “the horror! the horror!” — we only see this as a way to settle our irreconcilable differences barring all others all half-way all consideration of values, a glorified pissing match from the schadenfreudian safety of our couches — oh the ease the ease — it is too easy far too easy —

        3. 🙂 Whoa, calm down my friend.

Like I said, I don’t see China invading us without reason that will pass the scrutiny of the international community. Yes, they can bully us anytime in those disputed islands but invasion is a far fetched notion in the horizon. That I know.

Will the Muslin insurgents ‘just attack’ Luzon & the Visayas? I don’t know. And I said that not out of ignorance but out of grave concerned.

Did anyone know that our 40+ law enforcement personnel will be murdered this month for just trying to serve a warrant in an area controlled by the very people who are in close contact and communication with us? Did anyone know in advance for what reason they were murdered?

If you say, the Muslim insurgents will not attack, you have to have basis for it. If you don’t have basis, your answer will be the same like mine. When an armed insurgents behave in a manner not in accord to what has been worked out by everybody concerned, we should be alarmed for anything is possible.

I don’t mind being accused of fear-mongering but when you are dealing with unpredictable, opportunistic, armed and violent people, you will really, really be afraid. 🙁

        4. jameboy:

As to my belief that Muslims from Mindanao won’t wage war against us here — I do have the words of a man, a former member of the US Peace Corps, who has actually visited Mindanao throughout the ’80s, first as part of his assignment, and later on as a civilian trying to write a book on Mindanao so that he can become famous, meet girls, and let people know what was going on in Mindanao at the time.

He never did get to write his book (that’s our loss, since none of us are ever going out of our way to go down south, nor is the climate as hospitable — relatively speaking — as it was in the ’80s), but he does divulge a bit of it in Joe America’s blog. The Society of Honor. Latest two articles, both touching on the bloodbath at Mamasapano. Google it.

I encourage you to read what he has to say, and if you have questions, go and ask him. I’ve posted there a short while ago, if only to compliment him for actually being there, and to urge him to write his book, because fuck it, we’re all in the dark here — we can all use some help seeing Mindanao with a damn light.

      2. As a Hungarian who’s country was devastated by Muslim terror for over 150 years I say DO NOT TRUST MUSLIMS EVER! We studied the Qur’an the verses that were used to justify our slavery including sex slavery. Islam just like Communism and Nazism belongs in history’s garbage bin.

    3. Well fuck you Benji. With your words you make matters worse. I have intelligent Muslim friends and they don’t like rabid dogs like you. Any people who will kill and die for their religion are lunatics. I hope NBI and PNP will know your location because that’s one fucking terrorism statement you just made. Open your ass to your allah, too much religion just killed your brain, retard extremist.

    4. Sometimes I wanna cover my face when I see Muslims thinking that they have the right to take anyone’s life in the name of Allah. Like, really? Mutilate the bodies of the fallen? Is that how we show Allah is the Most Merciful and the Most Beneficent? I am so ashamed of my fellow Muslims who think that way.

    5. Sure dude sure, that’s what you said before you pissed the world off way back then and the pope decided to wipe you out with crusades. I’m not even a Christian but I’d join just to stop your nonsense. In fact the poor Africans have recently ethnically cleansed you out of Africa. Do you really want to piss off the more powerful civilized groups?. I have respect for the civilized peaceful Muslims, a lot of them are my friends but people like you I’d like to wipe off the face of the Earth, preferably with a press of the button but up close and personal is okay too.

    6. 2 gods are on this earth, the western god and the eastern god. they’re both friends with distinctive behaviors

the western god created science and out of it produced machines for his food and clothing.

while the eastern god just sat by and observed the western god in awe having prospered himself through his intellectual power as being blessed from above.

and because the western god is merciful he provided the eastern god a fortune that will make his habitat comfortable for a living.

so he sent him machines for oil exploration and the oil was exchanged into money to buy whatever needed for his house.

but despite the help he provided he’s still not contended with it and device a plan.

he selfishly grabbed the credit intended for this western god by proclaiming to his people that he is the only true superior god entitle for the word “Great”.

that’s i think where the trouble started.

      The End

    7. “We will win because we embrace death as it means we will meet our lord” – Sure, I’ll help you get to heaven, if you want…. >:)

  2. Stupidity is a human problem…religion is not the cause for bein DUMB!

No matter what religion one believes in and lives by…if your stupid, you will do stupid things.

    1. @ Robert Tecson:

or as John Cleese said, “The trouble with stupid people is that they are too stupid to know that they are being stupid.”

  3. Hi, I am not going to reply like Benji. It was said in the Quran “To you your religion and to me mine.” 109, 1-6. I am a fellow Muslim myself and I have this to say:

We have been victimized by the media and easily labeled as terrorists whenever an “act of terror” has been committed. I have never seen the term terrorism being so freely said to other “acts of terror” besides the bombing, etc. committed by the radical Islamists.

Take Anders Behring Breivik for example. He was a Christian (radical nonetheless) and called for Christians to wage war with Islam. A total of 77 people were killed and yet this wasn’t labeled as an act of terrorism. He was later called as a non-Christian and later, labeled as an anti-Islam only.

I can cite many other acts of terror committed by non-Muslim (radical Christians if you want) but the point remains the same: they were not labeled as the act of terrorism. However, anything equivalent that was done by radical Muslims were labeled as such.

Please do not think of us as a group of Benjis. We aren’t. There are still plenty of us that wants to live harmoniously. I respect what you have said and I hope that you ponder upon what I have said as well.

    Warm regards,
    Faris

    1. I agree with this…

It should be noted that the muslims are really not the problem here.

Although it is true, that most of these problems being described here are done by people who are associated to the religion, you cannot blame a whole group of people based on just what a few people did in the name of that so called religion.

The real problem here is that, the mainstream media always stresses out “Muslim” and “Terrorists” and use those two words in the same sentence all of the time. IT IS INDEED UNFORTUNATE that there are people who use religion to instigate violence, to justify the violence, but if you look at recorded history, this happened too in the past. (Remember the word “Crusades?”)

I’m a Christian (well at least on paper) and I live in a muslim country, and they condemn these kind of acts, and they are a loving and wonderful bunch of people, and all of the educated muslims I know laugh at the thought of what these extreme fanatics believe in.

You cannot blame these people screaming “ALA AKHBAR” while beheading someone, mainstream media made it that way. We have confused indoctrination with literacy. Historically, these guys were living a full life until the Crusades started happening. (They are the fathers of Math, Science and Medicine for Chrissakes!)

But maybe, just maybe If we start looking at things in a different angle, or different perspective, if we take out the word religion altogether, the true headlines would just be “A bunch of assholes who believe in something, killed 50+ men and they are still running around.”

Yep… I don’t think it was done by muslims. I think it was just a bunch of dicks who wants to kill people.

      1. Come, come. Sorry to disappoint you, but prior to the Crusades Muslims were not at all the we-mind-our-business-and-live-a-full-life kind of people as you prefer paint them.

Muslims were responsible for sacking and destroying the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and all other Christian structures in Jerusalem. They invaded Syria, Egypt, Constantinople and much of Mediterranean and North Africa. Most of these places were Christian enclaves.

The Crusades were merely defensive campaigns intended to retake and free what were considered to be ‘holy places’ for Christians.

        Tit for tat.

    2. I’ll just boil what you have pointed out down to observer bias, as the other possibility (that reporters agree with the likes of Breivik at some level) is too frightening a notion to entertain, and fortunately quite impossible, given what I perceive to be the irreligiosity (or low-key religiosity) of nominally Christian Europe.

If this reply seems flippant, I apologize for it.

    3. Thank you for your kind and well-thought-out reply. This is the kind of sentiment I want to attract.

Let us reason with one another as intellectual creatures.

    1. More perspective! (We live in a democracy, or at least I think I live in a democracy, so take this and run off with it.)

benign0 and some of the more long-standing posters here might remember sometime commenter Joe America — at any event, he’s got himself an article on the bloodbath at Mamasapano, and I’m seeing a host of interesting and informative responses from at least one guy who’s actually been to Mindanao. (Unlike me, because I’m poor and sedentary.)

      Scroll along, please: Link.

  4. Christianity is a religion of love
Muslim is a religion of peace
But why are we at war?

Having a religion is not a bad thing.
It’s wonderful thing because it stands a good foundation of what and who you are.

People just use religion in a wrong way.
It doesn’t matter what country, culture, skin color or Faith you have. As long as we know how to respect and be human to each other.

Let go of the hate, corruption and greediness
in my opinion Religion will not save us but our humanity will. Why not used the good teaching of our faith for the common good…… imagine (John Lennon)

    1. I shouted out who killed the Kennedies, when after all, it was you and me…

So let me please introduce myself, I’m a man of wealth and taste…

  5. sorry, grimwald, but most muslims run on absolute obedience. that’s what it is to be a muslim – a slave of god. as opposed to what is promoted in christianity, where people are supposedly children of god.
now the fault does not fall on the followers, but instead their leaders who have twisted their scriptures and doctrines to fuel hatred and violence. these wahabbi fanboys are self-declared “chosen people” who have taken it upon themselves to cleanse the world of jews, homosexuals and infidels in the name of allah.
now, all muslims i personally know (i work in ksa, mind you) are good people. they despise the al-queda, isis, etc as much as the next christian, but the problem is this is because these groups are not openly supported by their highest clerics. If and i hope not the highest authority in islam is hijacked by one of these bigot groups and fatwas are given for everyone non-muslim, a staggering 99% of these muslims will follow in blind faith. That’s just how they were raised. Ask any catholic to list the seven sacraments, they’d probably name at least 2. But a majority muslims, if asked their 5 pillars will not only list them for you but give an explanation on each. That’s how dedicated they are.

    1. That’s the Middle East for you. But we’re not in the Middle East — for better and for worse, we’re in the Philippines, and the fact that radical Islam has not gained a secure foothold in Mindanao gives me reason to think the former is true, that our Muslims may not be as conservative.

      1. Doesn’t change the fact that extremist groups in the PH are courting with their Middle Eastern counterparts and if they could would instill sharia law indefinitely upon their turfs.

    2. Thanks for the warning but I’m already somewhat aware of their nature.

I’m just hoping that some of them will be willing to listen to reason. Or, if not that, at least hear out what I have to tell them. There’s no need for more people to get hurt especially if they’re our own.

      1. True, true.
i know how well your intentions are.
the best what we can do is to soften up the next generation of muslims by exposing them to more modern (westernized) culture. Articles like these may help in the long run, as long as the readers are willing to listen.

  6. Man is the problem for they authored everything that happens in the world. Religion? It was a creation of man to justify his action by pointing to something perfect and powerful than him and submit himself to it in order to escape responsibility and assure his conscience of the morality and goodness of his acts. It’s all a facade, it’s all hypocrisy.

It’s just ironic that our spirituality, which clearly separate us from animals, is one quality that makes the beast out of ourselves. The more we rely on religion the more animalistic we behave. 🙁

  7. Takbīr Islam the religion of Peace

    about disbeliever

Quran (3:151) – “Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority”.

Quran (8:12) – “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them”

Quran (8:39) – “And fight with them until there is no more fitna (disorder, unbelief) and religion should be only for Allah”

Quran (33:60-62) – “If the hypocrites, and those in whose hearts is a disease, and the alarmists in the city do not cease, We verily shall urge thee on against them, then they will be your neighbors in it but a little while. Accursed, they will be seized wherever found and slain with a (fierce) slaughter.”

Quran (48:29) – “Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves”

Quran (61:4) – “Surely Allah loves those who fight in His way”

    about women

Qur’an (4:3) – (Wife-to-husband ratio) “Marry women of your choice, Two or three or four”

    Website

    Comment
Qur’an (4:24) and Qur’an (33:50) – A man is permitted to take women as sex slaves outside of marriage.

Muslim (4:1039) – “A’isha said ‘You have made us equal to the dogs and the asses'”

Tabari Vol 9, Number 1754 – “Treat women well, for they are domestic animals with you and do not possess anything for themselves.”

    so peaceful right

    1. It does not matter if you are Christian, Moslem, or Jew. Citing religious texts out of context and mindlessly reciting dogma and doctrine is no substitute for critical thinking. It is backward fundamentalist mumbo jumbo. I’ve got news for you: the Enlightenment and the birth of modern science was over 400 years ago. Claiming the something is right or the truth because it was written down by some supposedly divinely inspired cleric is absurd.

      1. Religion is the cause of massive genocide in middle east and Africa it is in the Quran it is written clearly kill the unbelievers, even in the middle ages Spanish inquisition, Crusades the dumb Catholic Churches order to kill unbelievers and those who refuse to convert to Catholicism, when in reality the war is meant for the Jews of Israel to wage war against their neighbor countries because of their wickedness. When the messiah was began teaching he never order any Jews on war he taught them peace and love. The Islam is clearly a radical ideology I wouldn’t be surprise most Muslims here in our country are violent too and teaching pedophilia just look at Freddie Aguilar marrying a 17 year old girl when his a 60 year old man

      2. Cherry picking from the Qur’an is what Muslims always did. From ISIS to our slave masters the Muslim Ottoman. (I’m Hungarian) They can easily justify their terror from the smorgasbords of Verses that are so appetizing to so many Muslim bigots. Islam is a damaged ideology just like Communism. It belongs in history’s garbage bin.

  8. The Islamic Koran states: “Whatever Evil comes from you…whatever Good comes from God…”

I do not believe in Organized Religions. They are all the cause of our troubles in our world.

If religious ideology is mixed with political ideology; and those political/religious opportunists are the leaders. You have a “Witch Brew”…

A strong Filipino President with good vision to all Filipinos, irregardless of religious affiliation can only solve these problems, we are in…ISIS/Al Queda foreign meddling, must stay out of the Mindanao problems. They are the ones stokking the fire of rebellion.

  9. Al Qaeda, Boko Haram, ISIS, Abu Sayaff, MILF, ETA, Hezbollah, Hamas, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jemah Islamiyah… I sense a pattern here somewhere but I can’t quite put a finger on it.

    1. @Tank:

All of them are Islamic Radicals, or Islamic Fundamentalists. They want all people to live under the Sharia Law of Allah…and make all people surrender to the will of their God: Allah…

  10. Vladimir Putin’s speech – SHORTEST SPEECH EVER. On August 04, 2013, Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, addressed the Duma, (Russian Parliament), and gave a speech about the tensions with minorities in Russia:
In Russia, live like Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia, to work and eat in Russia, it should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia Law, and live the life of Muslim’s then we advise them to go to those places where that’s the state law. Russia does not need Muslim minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell ‘discrimination’. We will not tolerate disrespect of our Russian culture. We better learn from the suicides of America, England, Holland and France, if we are to survive as a nation. The Muslims are taking over those countries and they will not take over Russia. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of Sharia Law and Muslims. When this honorable legislative body thinks of creating new laws, it should have in mind the Russian national interest first, observing that the Muslims Minorities Are Not Russians. The politicians in the Duma gave Putin a five minute standing ovation.
    (copied from one concerned citizen)

    1. Putin must be racist and homophobic but he’s got the pride to take as a leader: Russian government, Russian law. no extended Muslim or Catholic political pakialameros ( yes I am also talking about those epal Tagle’s CBCP minions.) If Ngoyngoy could just learn to be a comprtent leade…. Never mind, it won’t happen.

    2. That is why Eastern Europe is now the only part of the world where Western Christian civilization will continue. Western Europe is dead. Destroyed both Muslims and liberal extremism. Putin understands that

  11. Although I am a Fan of Vladimir Putin of Russia; because of his corruption.
He is a Very Strong President…he defeated the Chekniyan Islamic Radicals. And, make sure that all Islamic fundamentalist behaves…

  12. When the Charlie Hebdo controversy reach the Philippines many Muslims here began crying foul. They began opening their mouths like its their first time they learn to speak, they are very loud, the people take notice of their reaction. Now, after the massacre of the 50 policemen, you cant even hear a voice coming from them. Is non-muslim human lives important to them? They always say they are a religion of peace but why cant they show that it is a religion of peace. Most of the terrorist in the world are muslims and yet we dont see them coming together and protesting against the violence. As long as the majority of moderate muslims keeps their silence, people will have their animosity towards them. We need the loud voice of the moderates because i believed they are the key to stopping this “jihad” and “muslims against infidels” idiocy.

    1. The moderates fall under three camps: To condemn more, To condemn less or be apathetic about it since it doesn’t directly concern them. What this leads is further fragmentation over how to save their reputations.

  13. Why do people have to make things more complicated, when things are really simple. This is just about the neglect and lack of infrastructures in these areas that these peoples are rebelling. The govt. have forgotten that these areas are still parts of the Philippines. If these peoples are really terrorist, they would just go to big cities are kill thousands of peoples, like what Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria are going trough.

    1. Things are complicated in Mindanao because things really are complicated in Mindanao. Issues of land, religion, and self-determination collide and make for a whole bowl of confusion. Don’t kid yourself — this is not easy, nor is redressing the grievances of all concerned going to be easy.

  14. What a disgusting article. No one is “letting” anyone attack others. This article is expressing the idea that the conflict is the fault of everyday Muslims. Don’t put blame on them for the actions of a few. Just because some Australians have been smuggling drugs in Bali, doesn’t mean I, as an Australian, am “letting” them breach another country’s laws and commit a crime. And I don’t know what bombing in Australia you’re talking about.

If you’re talking about the hostage crisis in Sydney, well now I can see just how Australians and Filipinos handle “religion-related” acts of violence. First it was made clear that the hostage taker, despite terrorising in the name of Islam, was not a man of the religion. Australian Muslims did not consider him a “sibling”. If I were Christian or Catholic or whatever religion you are, and I went around killing homosexuals in the name of this religion, would you call me a sibling then? Do you think I’m doing right by said religion? No.
So how offended do you think the peaceful and properly-praticising Muslim community feel when you keep repeating “sibling” and “fellow” and group them with these savages? These barbarians plastering “Islam” and “For Allah” on themselves and their actions =/= properly-practising Filipino Muslims.

Man I can’t believe how twisted this article is. You’re preaching unity at the end of it and that’s all beautiful and admirable but the rest of your article is laced with a “You vs Us” mentality. “YOUR siblings” and “OUR troops”? “YOUR fellows” and “MY siblings”? And you wonder why the Filipino Muslim community “don’t seem to be doing anything about it”?

Sure, maybe Filipino Muslim leaders aren’t pro-active about the issue, unlike in Australia where the lone wolf’s actions were condemned by the Grand Mufti and mosques became filled with people praying for the safety of the hostages. It would’ve been amazing to see a response like that in the Philippines.

But maybe another factor of it is the oppression and ostracism Filipino Muslims face. They confront prejudiced ignoramuses who love to say horrible things about them on one side and violent extremists who pressure them into the fold on the other. They face shitty people all around. See, during the ordeal in Sydney, a progressive moment “#illridewithyou” came out. People UNDERSTOOD how devastated Australian Muslims were of the situation, probably more so than non-Muslims because not only was there loss of life and great trauma, but on top of that their religion was being TARNISHED and they didn’t know how Australian society would see and treat them. One woman removed her hijab on a bus because she was afraid she would be attacked for her religion. Another woman, a non-Muslim but a FELLOW AUSTRALIAN, told her she could put it back on and that she would accompany her to her workplace and ensure her safety. This kind of thing blew up on Twitter in Australia – with people carpooling with Muslims and accompanying them on public transport so they would be safe. THESE AUSTRALIANS UNDERSTOOD THAT TERRORIST AND VIOLENT ACTS WEREN’T THE FAULT OF EVERYDAY MUSLIMS. THEY COULD SEE THE EVERYDAY STRUGGLES MUSLIMS FACED IN SOCIETY AND HOW HELPLESS THEY FELT.

I can’t picture a movement like that from Filipinos. Because look, articles like this come out instead. And compared to a whole lot of other rude and bigoted statements that come out of Filipinos’ mouths about Muslims and Islam, this is pretty tame.

Look I understand your sentiments – we all want peace and for the violence to stop. But no one is “continuing to allow the terrorism to happen”. No one is happy or content with this apart from the terrorists.

In case this is ever relevant, I am not Muslim.

    1. What else can you expect from a country that even treats Protestant Christians like the El Shaddai group as a foreign religious entity, let alone Islam? The Catholic Church authorities here are too busy lying in bed with politicians in Manila over inter-faith dialogue with Islamic leaders in the Philippines. Gotta set those priorities in check.

      ========
I respect your contrary view with the idea of the article but on the quoted statement above, I think, you overdid your self sir.

More than any other country in the world, the PHL have long ago understand that violence perpetrated by Muslim terrorists, bandits, ordinary criminals, etc. does not extend to the majority who shares the same faith.

You will never picture a ‘movement’ in the PHL like what Australians did in responding to what happened in your country simply because we’re beyond movement. We have been living side by side with Muslims in the country.

You never had Muslim secessionists knocking on your door for decades. You never experienced Muslim kidnapping gangs roaming and terrorizing people on certain parts of your country like we do. You never had cases of periodic ambushes and killings of our own military personnel in the hands of Muslim insurgents. Given those cases, one would think that there would be widespread retaliation against Muslims in general in the county. But like I said non-Muslims understand what’s happening. We know who the enemies are and we’re dealing with them. Of course there would be others that will express a different opinion, that’s a given, but for the most part, Christians and Muslims in the country go about their business normally. That’s the reality.

Your opposing view against the article is fine but to make it a reflection of what my country is about Muslims is at best erroneous.

      1. More like the people don’t care at all because they’re too preoccupied trying to just live to band together and stir up protests against this problem while the “intelligentsia” would only cherry pick issues such as US military presence in the country.

    3. Hold up there, deerless. I’m sorry if you caught this article the wrong way. But I assure you, I’m not marginalizing anyone. I’m not making an “us vs. them” mentality, as unbelievable as that may seem to you.

Look, I’ll let you in on my personal story so that you’ll understand what I’m trying to say here…

My dad is an alcoholic bum who I don’t get along with. He wallows in self-pity and engages in dramatic activities every chance he gets. When he’s drunk, he’s even worse. He gets all proud and violent. Instead of saving money for greater things, he spends it on cheap booze so he can go around acting like the king of the world. He goes and causes trouble in various establishments, harassing women and attacking children.

I don’t know if you can relate but I really hate the guy okay.

But, try as I might, he’s still my dad.

That’s why when I get a phone call from someone saying:

“Mr. Grimwald, your father is here again, please escort him out.”

You have no idea the amount of embarrassment and humiliation that I feel. It may even seem funny but, trust me, it’s NOT. But he’s still my father so I have to do something about him. I hate him for the disgusting slob that he is, but there’s no denying that he’s still my father.

While it hurts when somebody spots me asking my father to leave an establishment and says: “Hey that’s Thaddeus Grimwald and his dad!” It’s a reality that I have to live with because I am my father’s son after all.

What I’m saying now is that while many Muslims will try to distance themselves from their more rowdy brethren, there’s no denying that they’re still related to them by faith. I’m asking them to make a move. To attempt to make their own remedies for the problem rather than simply let things slide. Just as I, more often than I would like, have had to drag my father out of establishments for hurting children or attacking people.

      1. @ deerless cont.

I also try to distance myself from my dad and, right now, we’re not even talking but I gotta face the fact that we are still related in some way…

    4. @deerless Not only would an #illridewithyou movement be unlikely in the Philippines, this website (a benign0 article) criticised that hashtag as a foolish woolly liberal gesture on the part of Australians. There’s no place for compassion and silver linings here!

      1. Indeed…

What is disturbing is that underneath both circumstances — normal business as usual or in the heat of emotional upheaval in the aftermath of the next in-the-name-of-Islam atrocity — lies a bedrock of political correctness. In normal times, people are tightlipped about one anothers’ deeply-ingrained distaste for the others’ beliefs and practices. Christians and members of the broader secular society of Australia are baffled and irked by what many regard to be the dogmatic and controlling — often oppressive — belief system of Muslims, while Muslims tend to be judgmental of the infidel’s sinfully-liberated ways. But thanks to political correctness, that is all simply not discussed. When tragedies such as the Martin Place Siege strike, suddenly the violence is an “isolated” incident that has supposedly “does not reflect the broader Muslim community”.

        Full article here.

    5. @ deerless

I’m a Filipino, baptized Catholic, turned atheist.

I was really touched with the #illridewithyou gesture that came out after the hostage crisis in Sydney. A friend of mine who’d migrated to Sydney said that it was pretty much unbelievable when he saw it for himself.

I’ll make this clear here, Grimwald’s article makes some sense in our context here but it omits one thing. A good deal of the population of the Philippines (non-Muslims) do think that all Muslims = terrorists. Only those who’d actually known, and have Muslims around them, say as co-workers, friends and neighbors may have a better opinion of them.

What made me say that, a lot may ask.

We think badly of Muslims, we crack jokes at them, our best mental image of Muslims is synonymous with DVD, and recently, Bluray. We think they all have a harem at home, we cradle the thought that they are all traitors, subhuman etc.

Our Muslim countrymen had long been denied services befitting a good government (heck, we’re also in that bucket mostly) which makes it really easy for a bunch of disgruntled dudes with guns to scrounge up a flag, and start shooting at everything in sight, in the name of discontent and Allah.

If we, as a people, are to do something, let’s start by looking at our Muslim countrymen in the south as equals, treat them well and respect, then maybe the common Muslim man and woman, will step in to do something about these secessionists, enabling the country to march on as one, and finally eradicate this problem.

      1. It’s a painful truth. The article isn’t supposed to be divisive, it’s just that the mentality of the common Filipino is ALREADY divisive. I might not see all Muslims as terrorists but every other misinformed Filipino (which probably outnumber the wiser ones) will generalize them anyway.

      2. In short, Muslims suffer from an image problem. Whether that image they harbour is fair or not, is beside the point. That is simply the fact staring us in the face begging to be dealt with.

  15. people don’t understand the fundamental nature of “God, to think he would be a party to this unkindness, he who encourages pursuit of confusion does not foster a close association with their God” but rather engaged in an ego-centric indulgence.

  16. There’s nothing wrong with your religion, mind you.
    ======
There’s a lot of wrongs in all religions. In fact, as a man-made myth, it is wrong. 🙂

    1.

      سورة الرَّحمٰن
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
The Beneficent ﴾1﴿ Hath made known the Qur’an. ﴾2﴿ He hath created man. ﴾3﴿ He hath taught him utterance. ﴾4﴿ The sun and the moon are made punctual. ﴾5﴿ The stars and the trees prostrate. ﴾6﴿ And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, ﴾7﴿ That ye exceed not the measure, ﴾8﴿ But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. ﴾9﴿ And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures, ﴾10﴿ Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, ﴾11﴿ Husked grain and scented herb. ﴾12﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾13﴿ He created man of clay like the potter’s, ﴾14﴿ And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. ﴾15﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾16﴿ Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! ﴾17﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾18﴿ He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. ﴾19﴿ There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). ﴾20﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾21﴿ There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. ﴾22﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾23﴿ His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. ﴾24﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾25﴿ Everyone that is thereon will pass away; ﴾26﴿ There remaineth but the Countenance of thy Lord of Might and Glory. ﴾27﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾28﴿ All that are in the heavens and the earth entreat Him. Every day He exerciseth (universal) power. ﴾29﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾30﴿ We shall dispose of you, O ye two dependents (man and jinn). ﴾31﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾32﴿ O company of jinn and men, if ye have power to penetrate (all) regions of the heavens and the earth, then penetrate (them)! Ye will never penetrate them save with (Our) sanction. ﴾33﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾34﴿ There will be sent, against you both, heat of fire and flash of brass, and ye will not escape. ﴾35﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾36﴿ And when the heaven splitteth asunder and becometh rosy like red hide – ﴾37﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? – ﴾38﴿ On that day neither man nor jinni will be questioned of his sin. ﴾39﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾40﴿ The guilty will be known by their marks, and will be taken by the forelocks and the feet. ﴾41﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾42﴿ This is hell which the guilty deny. ﴾43﴿ They go circling round between it and fierce, boiling water. ﴾44﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾45﴿ But for him who feareth the standing before his Lord there are two gardens. ﴾46﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾47﴿ Of spreading branches. ﴾48﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾49﴿ Wherein are two fountains flowing. ﴾50﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾51﴿ Wherein is every kind of fruit in pairs. ﴾52﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾53﴿ Reclining upon couches lined with silk brocade, the fruit of both the gardens near to hand. ﴾54﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾55﴿ Therein are those of modest gaze, whom neither man nor jinni will have touched before them. ﴾56﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾57﴿ (In beauty) like the jacynth and the coral-stone. ﴾58﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾59﴿ Is the reward of goodness aught save goodness? ﴾60﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾61﴿ And beside them are two other gardens, ﴾62﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾63﴿ Dark green with foliage. ﴾64﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾65﴿ Wherein are two abundant springs. ﴾66﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾67﴿ Wherein is fruit, the date-palm and pomegranate. ﴾68﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾69﴿ Wherein (are found) the good and beautiful – ﴾70﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? – ﴾71﴿ Fair ones, close-guarded in pavilions – ﴾72﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? – ﴾73﴿ Whom neither man nor jinni will have touched before them – ﴾74﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾75﴿ Reclining on green cushions and fair carpets. ﴾76﴿ Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? ﴾77﴿ Blessed be the name of thy Lord, Mighty and glorious! ﴾78﴿

  17. How do you talk to a Beast? How can a mentally retarded President, who claims his father is a hero, has something to do, with this beastly massacre?
Aquino cannot accept responsibility. He always find someone to blame. What is a suspended PNP Chief doing in that operation? Who approved this?
Roxas is washing his hand…he is also as guilty as Aquino. He wants to save his Presidential ambition.

We pray for those Police/soldiers who have died. We sypathize with their families.

    1. His father is a hero. I know some on this site have it on their minds that Noynoy’s father is a traitor, but frankly they’re just spewing their brand of bitterness all over, and the last thing we want right now is even more bitterness — it just poisons the discourse. Instead of people just calming down and thinking things over, we’ll be having (if not “we have”) an article full of mudslinging circlejerks. Not that that won’t (isn’t?) par for this site, but really, HydenToro’s umpteenth alt, stop this.

      1. @Pallacertus:

If Ninoy Aquino, Jr. is a Hero to you. So, be it…He is a Traitor, to me. A political opportunist, who died for the NPA cause, and his Hacienda Luisita…

MV Karagatan and LP Miting de Avance bombing are Ninoy Aquino’s work…

        1. … what.

This isn’t the first time that I’m reading this kind of line on this site, but now that this is directed to me, that is the only word I can say in reply.

But perhaps “unfounded spiteful allegations” fits better. Call me a yellowtard if you like, but I am not man beholden to doctrines nor someone bursting with irreducible hatred to be visited upon the third and fourth generation. My posts on this site speak for themselves.

        2. @Pallacertus:

I have two Cardiologists friends here, who were in the NPA. They are nearing retirement ages. And, they were in the NPA, during the “Martial Law” time. They graduated from UP School of Medicine. And, furthered their studies in the U.S. They told me about the encounters with soldiers. About, Jose Maria Sison. About the Hacienda Luisita, and Ninoy Aquino Jr. and Cory Aquino, support of the NPA. Aquino was not in the LP Miting de Avance in Plaza Miranda, during the bombing. Then, after the bombing, he was pictured with a Israeli Uzi Machine Pistol. The Arms shipment of MV Karagatan was in Palanan, Isabela. The arms came from Communist China…M14 and Rocket Launchers with grenades and ammunitions. Pictures of the ship is still here, along with the newspaper editions of the Plaza Miranda Bombing…

Not, only these Cardiologists are in the NPA. I have met many old timers Filipinos, who were opposed against “martial Law”. Why not ask Fidel Ramos? Or Enrile? They know many things. Or the old people in the Province of Isabela; they know about the MV Karagatan incident…

          Ninoy Aq

        3. Ninoy Aquino, Jr. is a Political SCUM. Cory Aquino is a Feudal Oligarch Political Opportunist…She is also a Political Scum…like mother and father, like son…Benigno Aquino III , is the worst Political Scum. Filipino soldiers/police lives does not matter to him…he led them to their Death…he must be tried with Treason , like his Granfather, Benigno Aquino, Sr…he is Ceding a part of the Philippine terrirtory to MILF/ISIS…

Do you believe these MILF murderers will disarm? Aquino is a true idiot…

        4. @Pallacertus:

One of the Cardiologist is my own brother…I’ve known him, since we were young…he was an Idealist…he never lie, like Aquino…however, my late Father counseled him to go to U.S., to pursue his Medical career…other than fighting for a stupid cause…

        1. @Pallacertus:

If you believe me, I appreciate it…if you do not believe me , it is okay, also…

I don’t pander to be believed…it is not my vice to do it…I tell the truth, and it is up to the readers…

I request all Readers to do Research of their own, and to use their common senses in reading blogs…

        2. Hyden,
Don’t bother with the truth if you’re having a hard time to distinguish it from lies. Just focus on reputation. I think you ran out of it. 🙂

  18. What is glaring in all of these cases of “Muslim attacks” is the lack of strong, public condemnation by moderate adherents of the religion of peace. Is it so difficult to say out loud and proud that any person who commits violence in a misguided belief that it pleases Allah is not a true follower of Islam? Is it really that hard to say bin laden and other terrorists do not represent Islam? This chronic failure to police or condemn the loonies in their ranks creates trust problems.

  19. also one senses a pattern in the Philippines dealing with this problem in the south. It is that the Philippine government is bending over backwards to accommodate yet another disgruntled moro faction. First it was the mnlf…we gave them the armm. Now it’s the milf I think the milfs splintered off mnlf…we will give them bangsa Moro…now it is highly likely given that history that another disgruntled Moro faction will arise even after creating the bangsa Moro…let’s say the Bangsamoro Alliance Youth Action Group (true believers edition)…who will then claim the whole of mindanao…I’d sleep better if the Philippines had nukes that way if this little experiment in Moro autonomy goes under we have a definite deterrent. That way me you Juan and Ahmed will all end up with the fishes should this endeavor go awry and mercifully end this overarching failure that is the Philippine state. End rant.

    1. Nukes?? As if our Padrino, Uncle Sam, would ever allow us to have weapons of that grade. Notice how the US love to donate the Phils. outdated and faulty military equipments. And with our kind of politics here, some madman president might just use the nukes against his detractors and the people itself. You want to really end the Moro problem?? Let them secede from the Philippines. Let them create their own independent government. That way the Phil. gov’t will no longer have to deal with them. The gov’t doesn’t have to give them a share of the taxes. And think of the savings the Phils. will have as they will no longer have to spend so much wars against the rebels.

  20. Sunday, August 10, 2014 THE GLORY OF ISLAM: Putting the Beheadings, Crucifixions, and Rape into the Context of the Quran by Lawrence Fox

This past month, the last Christian limped out of Mosul, faced with death, forced conversion to Islam or payment of a “protection” tax. These are typical penalties all unbelievers (Christians, Jews, pagans, and even those deemed impure Muslims) face when Muslims gain control of an area.

Christians in Iraq were faced with three options once the Islamic State in Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) moved into Mosul: convert, be killed, or pay the (jizya) tax — three steps which are literally spelled out in the Quran (Surah 9:29): “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.”

“For the first time in the history of Iraq, Mosul is now empty of Christians,” concluded the Iraqi Patriarch Louis Sako, sorrowing over the loss of one of the world’s most ancient Christian communities.

But that proved to be only the beginning of the horror. Five hundred men, women and children of the ancient Iraqi minority Yazidi (syncretic form of Zoroastrianism) were shot in the head, crucified, raped and had their limbs amputated by the Sunni-led ISIS.

Killing resisting Jews, Christians and pagans are approved practices of the Quran. However, the Muslim book, Quran, whose name means “recital,” warns if you kill fellow Muslims you will end in hell.

Yet the dirty secret of Islam is that even Muslims can be defined — at will — as unbelievers then killed, taxed or converted, especially if they fail the test of other forbidden practices such as befriending Jews or Christians.

Members of the Sunni Shaitat tribe were rounded up and marched to their deaths in Syria by ISIS, and the whole event was documented in a series of horrific images posted online by the victorious jihadists.

Dare we hope the Shaitat Sunni tribe were impure Muslims — newly-defined Muslim “unbelievers” — because they resisted ISIS’ plans for an Islamist state or caliphate in Syria and Iraq? They didn’t want to be ruled by that batch of Muslims?

If so, too bad. True Muslims put them to death. ISIS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi called on the “soldiers of the Islamic state” to fight alongside his jihadist group, telling them: “If you have faith, you will conquer Rome.” ISIS’ plans also envisage expansion of the Islamic state into Europe and across Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

The foundation of ISIS’s belief in themselves is the Quran, and they are following its precepts honestly and literally to “Fight those who believe not in Allah.”

ISIS are better Muslims — more beloved by Allah: “Do you pretend that he who gives a drink to the pilgrims and pays a visit to the Sacred Mosque is as worthy as the man who believes in Allah and the Last Day and fights (jihad) for Allah’s cause. These are not equal by Allah. He does not guide the wrongdoers. Those that have embraced the faith and fled their homes and fought for Allah’s cause with their wealth and their persons are held in higher regard by Allah.” (Surah 9:19-21)

The reason this catastrophe is taking place in Iraq and Syria is best summed up by the Byzantine Emperor Manuel II Paleologus during the Islamic siege of the City of Constantinople in 1391:

“Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new to religion, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”

And if you are horrified reading that famous quote, which got Pope Benedict in so much trouble when he repeated it in 2006, then you are part of the problem. The ideology of Islam is primarily to blame for the bloody mess in the Middle East, but so is Western Society’s inability to grasp that fact, and its insistence on treating the whole problem as a political issue. The moral vacuum in the West ensures that’s the only way it can be treated.

The roots of the violence begin in 622 AD when Mohammed fled to Medina to escape assassination, and encountered contradiction, ridicule and rejection from the Jewish scholars there.

This began in human history a wave of political and religious violence, which has steadfastly grown and has not contradicted the reasonable assessment made by Emperor Manuel II Paleologus.

The Quran is peppered with the call to jihadist violence: “Believers (Muslims) why is that when it is said to you, ‘March in the cause of Allah,’ you linger slothfully in the land?…If you do not fight, He will punish you sternly and replace you by other men.” (Surah 9:38) and “Unbelievers are those that say, ‘Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary.’…None shall help the evil-doers.” (Surah 5:17 & 5:71-5:75)

Are the members of ISIS not fulfilling the literal rendering of the Quran? Aren’t the Christians in Mosul “evil-doers”? Where are the soldiers from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Jordan, Pakistan, and Iran rising up in defense of the defenseless? Does not their silence indicate acceptance, no, even support?

Allah purportedly speaking through the angel Gabriel recites to Mohammed: “Do you suppose that you would enter Paradise before Allah has proved the men who fought (jihad) for him…. Many large armies have fought by the side of their prophet (Mohammed). They were never daunted by what befell them on the path of Allah: they neither weakened not cringed abjectly, Allah loves the steadfast.” (Surah 3:142-149)

The Quran make is quite clear, those who support and go to war in the name of Allah are of greater value in Islam than those who stay at home indifferent to the cause. In fact, The Quran promises to those who wage war in the name of Allah greater goods, “The believers who stay at home – apart from those that suffer from a grave impediment – are not equal to those who fight (jihadist) for the cause of Allah with their goods and persons…He has promised all a good reward; but far richer is the recompense of those who fight for him…” (Surah 4:95-96)

The images of honor killings, rape, burnt bodies, beheadings, executions, slavery, abductions, cutting off body parts, and the burning of churches – in the name of Allah – from Sudan, Nigeria, Mali, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, East Timor and increasingly occurring in Europe, Canada, and America confirms the reasonable assessment made by Emperor Manuel II Paleologus.

Tragically, the socialist, materialist, and progressive West still looks at these events through the eye-glasses of “political-issue.” These fools have yet to grasp that religion and politics are not separated in the Quran.

Despite the mindlessly Obama-like hashtag, “Islam is a religion of peace hijacked by wicked men,” there remains the insidious reality that a great number of persons embrace the idea that “the whole of the Quran” must be implemented in every age and in every land.

They would force the whole world to submit to Allah under Sharia Law which includes child marriages, blood revenge, imprisonment and execution for apostasy, and relegation of women and unbelievers to second class citizenship, or have them face taxation, displacement and cruel death. All this is being financed by the desert princes across the Middle East.

Yes, there are secondary causes for the catastrophe in Iraq. The Administration of U.S. President George W. Bush did not grasp the consequences of Americans entering into a war in Iraq, and then eventually leaving it in the hands of a people who have been at each other’s throats since the seventh century.

Mohammed died on June 8th in 632 AD and immediately afterwards his followers broke into two warring factions: Sunni and Shia, one led by a father-in-law of Mohammed and the other led by a son-in-law.

Iraq is currently run by Shias. The Sunni-led ISIS is motivated in part by a hatred for the Shia Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, who has been unable to contain his bitterness towards all things Sunni and Kurdish. The same drumbeat of despair engulfs these peoples as it has for centuries, and tragically the Catholic Christians are again caught in the middle.

The Bush Administration never anticipated that the Muslim Brotherhood would seduce his successor, resulting in the deliberate demolition of structures within the Islamic World. The Bush Administration naively embraced the notion that a society adhering to the “whole” of the Quran could give birth and build a Democratic Society – with American aid – just like the once Christianized Germany did after World War II.

Now comes the Obama Administration, whose goals have been closely aligned with those of the Muslim Brotherhood. It is the Muslim Brotherhood, who from their beginning in 1928 advocated the restoration of the Islamic Caliphate; and oh my, that was before there existed the State of Israel. So much for Israel being the cause of violence in the Middle East.

That “restoration” is now taking place out of the bones of the Iraqi people. ISIS has wrested control of Mosul and parts of Iraq, and is moving on to the Shia-controlled Bagdad. And by the way, ISIS is the group U.S. President Obama identified as nothing more than a “junior varsity team.”

The original Caliphate was established in the year 632 A.D. in the Arabian Peninsula, and ISIS’ goal is to turn Iraq into the new Caliphate, becoming the Sunni leader of a worldwide Muslim movement.

ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood are allies in this effort. The events on 9/11/12 in Libya, resulting in the murder of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens, have more to do with the secret movement of arms to the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria by the CIA than anything else that has been suggested, including the airing of an anti-Islamic video on YouTube.

And why was the U.S. involved in moving arms to the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria? Why, to assist the goal of a new Muslim Caliphate, of course.

In Egypt, Americans watched in horror as the U.S. chose to side with the Muslim Brotherhood. The US Administration alleged it was in pursuit of the so-called “Arab Spring” — not to be confused with Irish Spring, which actually smells good. The Arab Spring was simply a ruse.

The Obama Regime did not expect the Egyptian Military’s repulsion of the Muslim Brotherhood’s advances; and so they were caught with their pants down.

The U.S. Media has still not grasped the narrative perhaps because it seems like the Obama Administration embroils itself in one crisis after another to distract us from the really bad crises – like what’s happening in the Middle East.

Until the Islamic world re-evaluates adherence to the “whole” of the Quran, this brutality will never cease. The jizya tax was established by a human being named Mohammed – and not by Allah. It was never meant to protect Christians or Jews as argued by so-called “peaceful” Islamic Scholars. The tax was pragmatic. Islam could not compel Christians nor Jews to enter into Islamic jihad against other Christians stretching from Mecca to Turkey, Syria and Spain. And so the tax payment became Islam’s version of mercy and clemency. Mercy in Islam proceeds from submission.

This is totally contrary to the Christian sense of mercy: “But God demonstrated His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:9) and again “For God sent His Son into the world, not to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” (John 3:7) and again, “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless those that curse you, do good to those that hate you, and pray for those who speak evil about you, and persecute you.” (Matt 5:44 and Luke 6:27)

The jizya was implemented to force Christians and Jews to pay for the maintenance of Islamic Jihad. It is no different than the financial levies imposed by the Mafia, Mexican Drug Cartels or other gang-bangers raging across the world. The only difference is this jizya tax payment is one of the foundations of the “Religion of Peace.”

So the whole world stands by wringing their hands, tsk tsking over the politics of the Middle East while watching the torture, murder and rape of innocent men, women and children. They do not recognize that what is needed is a bone deep conversion of the heart on the part of everyone in world.

    1. And how does this relate to the MILF cause? The article is about Middle East, specifically ISIS. Who kills indiscriminately. They kill Muslims and Christians alike. How about you also post articles about Islamic countries fighting the ISIS or about Muslim leaders and scholars convening many times on how to defeat ISIS and Islamophobia perpetrated by ISIS at the same time strongly condemning the acts of ISIS.

    2. After reading the article. I merely skimmed it the first time as it is a looonng post. lol Anyway, from what I gathered, the author pretty much accuse Obama of creating ISIS. Which is exactly what the people in Middle East had been saying for months. That ISIS, AL-QAEDA, and co. are creations of CIA and Mossad (the CIA equivalent in Israel) to cause unrest in their region, in order to effect regime change in those countries seen by US as hostile to them and Israel. Notice that ISIS also massacres Muslims, Sunnis and Shi’as alike. I guess this article pretty much confirms the suspicions the Arabs.

  21. War at the best, is terrible, and this war of ours, in its magnitude and in its duration, is one of the most terrible.

  22. Wow, all these txts I am getting, jokes, sarcasms… hahaha, Pinoy talaga. This is a combustible atmosphere with Fallen44, the one that broke the camel’s back

Let me guess. People Power could be triggered by a Mar Roxas resignatiom, another PNoy misstep… ohh i don’t know.

But, PNoy now has to be careful. The ingredients of a possibly successful PP is present: an angry middle class and a very angry military.

People are probably holding back, though, because VP is Binay.

  23. Pallacertus,
I thought the cardiologists knew something we all don’t know. I thought they will show concrete proof that will pin Ninoy Aquino on crimes they had a direct knowledge of.

    Alas, it’s all chismis.

Dragging the cardiologists (if they ever existed) in the discussion would have been solid if the info they have is incriminating and not known and reliable. Actually, after reading what they ‘told’ the rabid-anti Aquino fanatic, it didn’t surprise me to find out most of them I’ve already read in newspapers and magazines.

    It’s all garbage. 🙂

      1. @Pallacertus:

Cardiologists are expert doctors of the heart. In the U.S., they have to pass more than 7 federal and state exams to be certified. And they have to attend medical schools in the U.S.

They don’t do “Chismis”….they have been there…and they are thankful to have decided the right thing.

They have no vested interests on the Philippine situation. They are already U.S. citizens…and Boy…they earn a tonful of U.S. dollars…

        1. Just because one is a doctor doesn’t mean he don’t lie.

In fact, nothing in what those cardiologists said have value. Nothing. It’s all washout info that does not carry weight. In fact, it was so useless they opted to say it to one stupid enough who will swallow it hook, line and sinker.

And then repeat it here as if it was a new revelation when in fact it was pure garbage.

          Basura. 😉

  24. Never ending conflicts between different religions will stay with us til the end of this world..you can never tell who to believe now….it is all blown out of proportions.

    1. @Jameboy:

At least these Doctors do not lie like YellowTards, who earn their living lying for Aquino…

They have dignity; highly educated and rich…

      1. The question is what ‘truth’ did those doctors say.

Reading your post about those doctors, there was nothing there. 🙁

        1. @Jameboy:

“Truth” is for you to research…are you too dumb and too lazy to research? Or you are just lying for Aquino?

Go to Ramos, Enrile , Binay , Erap Estrada, etc…they are still alive. They can confirm what I’m writing…anyone who lived before, during the ‘martial law” days, know this incidents…

        2. Truth is to research? Really? If I tell you those doctors are just pulling your legs and you fell for it out of ignorance, that means you have to research the truth of that because that is the rule.

If Bullyboy alleges something he is not bound to support it. The readers should do the research to find out if Bullyboy is telling the truth or not?

          Kakaloka ka Toro ha. 🙂

Go to Ramos, Enrile , Binay , Erap Estrada, etc…they are still alive. They can confirm what I’m writing…anyone who lived before, during the ‘martial law” days, know this incidents… – Toro
          ========
Why will I confirm with Ramos and co. what you wrote when according to you it was the cardiologists who told you those things? Here, read again what wrote:

“I have two Cardiologists friends here, who were in the NPA. They are nearing retirement ages. And, they were in the NPA, during the “Martial Law” time. They graduated from UP School of Medicine. And, furthered their studies in the U.S. They told me about…..” – Toro
          ========
          There’s the rub. 🙂

  25. what do I read here? kuffar + kuffar is blind leading the blind.

If those of you who claim to follow Allah yet submit to the kafir here,
    baddala deenahu, faqtuhulu

  26. in the HISTORY of the world, who has KILLED maximum INNOCENT
    human beings

    1) “Hitler”
Do you know who he was

He was a Christian, but media will never call Christians terrorists.

    2) “Joseph Stalin called as Uncle Joe”.

He has killed 20 million human beings including 14.5 million were starved to death.

    Was he a Muslim!??

    3) “Mao Tse Tsung (China)”

He has killed 14 to 20 million human beings.

    Was he a Muslim??!!

    4) “Benito Mussolini (Italy)”

He has killed 400 thousand human beings.

    Was he a Muslim??!!

    5) “Ashoka” In Kalinga Battle

He has killed 100 thousand human beings.

    Was he a Muslim??!!

    6) Embargo put by George Bush in Iraq,

    1/2 million children
has been killed in Iraq alone!!! Imagine these people are never called terrorists by the media.

    Why???

Today the majority of the non-muslims are afraid by hearing the words “JIHAD”.

Jihad is an Arabic word which comes from root Arabic word “JAHADA” which means “TO STRIVE” or “TO STRUGGLE” against evil and for justice. It does not
    mean killing innocents.

The difference is we stand against evil, not with evil”.

You still think that ISLAM is the problem

    1. The First World War, 17 million dead
    (caused by non-Muslim).

    2. The Second World War, 50-55 million dead (caused by non-Muslim).

    3. Nagasaki atomic bombs 200000 dead
    (caused by non-Muslim).

    4. The War in Vietnam, over 5 million dead (caused by non-Muslim).

    5. The War in Bosnia/Kosovo, over 5,00,000 dead (caused by non-Muslim).

    6. The War in Iraq (so far) 12,000,000 deaths
    (caused by non-Muslim).

    7. Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, Burma etc (caused by non-Muslim).

    8. In Cambodia 1975-1979, almost 3 million deaths (caused by non-Muslim).

    “MUSLIMS ARE NOT TERRORISTS
    AND
    TERRORISTS ARE NOT MUSLIMS.”

Please remove first double standards on Killings.

    1. Nice game of bringing up the past there to miss the point on the present. The thing is…christians haven’t been outspokenly killing for Jesus since the inquisition (maybe ww2 if you count the inaction of the Catholic church).

All Muslims are not terrorists. Some Muslims now are terrorists who expressly believe that their terrorist acts please allah. What to do about the some?

We also need more people like yourself in the Muslim community to expressly denounce these terrorist acts.

  27. And this is what’s wrong with our country. WE and YOU? The author is dividing us. Many are insisting that Moros are Filipinos, too, and hence, should stop rebelling already. But the truth is Moros had always been treated as OTHERS or outsiders by their fellow countrymen, majority of whom are Christians, because they’re Muslims. As if being Muslims, somehow makes them inferior. And this article is a prime example of that. And that is one of the reasons the Moros wanted to secede their land from the Philippines. They wanted to be treated as equal. You said “help us help you”. Well, I can helping you by reminding you first of the history (in brief) of the Moros. And you can help by listening without prejudice against Muslims in your heart and mind. Try to think of Moros as being neither Christians or Muslims before listening. Because the cause of the Moros was NEVER about religion. They just happen to be Muslims. Mindanao, the land of the Moros was never conquered by the Spaniards, despite repesated attempts, in its 400-year colonization of the Philippines. The proud Moros had successfully resisted any kind of foreign rule. Then came the treaty of Paris where Spain sold Mindanao also to the Americans, though Mindanao was never conquered by them. The natives of Mindanao had no idea, of course. The Americans came and the Moros had resisted them too. Same with the Japanese. After failing to make the Moros give up their land, the Americans and the Phil. govt sponsored Christian settlers from Luzon and Mindanao to live in Mindanao awarding them swaths of land. The Moros welcomed the original settlers and there were even ceremonies in their honor. And the common practice of intermarriage between us started. But then, settlers from the north continued to arrive en masse and soon the settlers outnumbered the natives, whom the settlers saw as uncivilized heathens. The Moros were called Muklos, a derogatory word they coined by the settlers. Unrest soon follow. Matters gone worse when the settlers formed militias, like the Ilagas, to kill and rape the Moros. The Ilagas even ate body parts of their victims in rituals. There are also account of numerous massacres of the Moros. My grandparents used to tell us stories about the horrors inflicted by the Ilagas. The Moros feared them, of course. Add to this, the natural resources of Minanao was being exploited by the central govt and spent the revenues in the capital while the Moros who actually owned the natural resources were ignored and lived in poverty. Soon, young Moros were forming rebel groups to get their illegally annexed land back. They believed the only way the discrimination against the Moros would only stop and for their quality of living to improve is if they have their own land wherein they can govern themselves and exploit the natural resources in their land as they saw fit. You see? This was not about religion. Or maybe, on your point of view, it is. Because had the Moros been Christians, maybe the central govt wouldn’t have neglected them and their fellow men wouldn’t have looked down upon them. I guess we’ll never found out. And stop putting the Moros in the same category as terrorists because the MILFs are insurgents. If you really want to help, just stop this “WE and YOU” mentality if you refuse to secede the land of the Moros. And stop this long-time practice of discrimination against Moros because they happen to be Muslims.Help by removing the stigma against Muslims in this country.
As to what happened in Mamasapano, stop calling it a massacre. The SAF, assisted by some FBIs (I wonder why the media never mentioned them? Though many of the locals saw them, came in full-combat gear into the camp of the MILF which is contrary to the agreement beteen the Phil. Govt and the MILF, as their agreement provides for coordination between them in case the other had to conduct extraordinary operations in an area controlled by the former. In this case, there was NO COORDINATION, so those people who conducted the raid knew the risks. They knew they would be seen as hostile attackers by the rebels because the rebels had NO KNOWLEDGE of their covert operation. They knew they may not get out alive, and that’s why I see them as heroes because they chose to enter the area in hopes of arresting an international criminal even knowing that they might not get out alive. And not because the MILF KILLED THEM IN SELF-DEFENSE (from the point of view of the rebels, it is self-defense). It was NOT THE INTENTION of the SAF to ignite a war with the rebels, but how was the rebels supposed to know that?! Covert ng, eh.In fact, the SAF killed members of the MILF who were sleeping inside a mosque. With acts like that, how could the rebels not think they were under attack?! They say the covert operation was an exception to the coordination agreement between MILF and the Phil. Govt. Even if it is, those operatives knew fully well that there is a very risk the rebels would fight as they had no knowledge.
I still believe there’s a chance for peace in Mindanao. Both sides want peace. Some may refuse to believe it, but the rebels are fighting FOR PEACE. The Moros want a peaceful life, free from manipulations by the gov’t and where no one discriminates them. But being peaceful doesn’t mean complacent or submissive (which is what YOU really want from US, like always). The Moros had always been ready to defend itself against aggressors as their ancestors had shown by refusing to submit for more than 400 years to the Spaniards, Americans, and Japanese. With that in mind, it’s important that we not be influenced by our emotions or prejudices. The only way to go forward is to look at things rationally and clearly.

      1. You gotta live with your mistakes sometimes. Be glad it’s just a mass of typos that you’ll have to live with — but remember to be your own grammer Nutzi next time.

  28. Islam, a religion of mercy, does not permit terrorism. In the Quran, God has said:

“God does not forbid you from showing kindness and dealing justly with those who have not fought you about religion and have not driven you out of your homes. God loves just dealers.” (Quran 60:8)

The Prophet Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, used to prohibit soldiers from killing women and children,[1] and he would advise them: “…Do not betray, do not be excessive, do not kill a newborn child.”[2] And he also said: “Whoever has killed a person having a treaty with the Muslims shall not smell the fragrance of Paradise, though its fragrance is found for a span of forty years.”[3]

Also, the Prophet Muhammad has forbidden punishment with fire.[4]

He once listed murder as the second of the major sins,[5] and he even warned that on the Day of Judgment, “The first cases to be adjudicated between people on the Day of Judgment will be those of bloodshed.[6]”[7]

Muslims are even encouraged to be kind to animals and are forbidden to hurt them. Once the Prophet Muhammad said: “A woman was punished because she imprisoned a cat until it died. On account of this, she was doomed to Hell. While she imprisoned it, she did not give the cat food or drink, nor did she free it to eat the insects of the earth.”[8]

He also said that a man gave a very thirsty dog a drink, so God forgave his sins for this action. The Prophet, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, was asked, “Messenger of God, are we rewarded for kindness towards animals?” He said: “There is a reward for kindness to every living animal or human.”[9]

Additionally, while taking the life of an animal for food, Muslims are commanded to do so in a manner that causes the least amount of fright and suffering possible. The Prophet Muhammad said: “When you slaughter an animal, do so in the best way. One should sharpen his knife to reduce the suffering of the animal.”[10]

In light of these and other Islamic texts, the act of inciting terror in the hearts of defenseless civilians, the wholesale destruction of buildings and properties, the bombing and maiming of innocent men, women, and children are all forbidden and detestable acts according to Islam and the Muslims. Muslims follow a religion of peace, mercy, and forgiveness, and the vast majority have nothing to do with the violent events some have associated with Muslims. If an individual Muslim were to commit an act of terrorism, this person would be guilty of violating the laws of Islam.

  29. One thing I learned in reading history is that there is no such thing as a religion of peace.

It’s not religion that is at fault. It is the people who molded it to fit their own interests.

    1. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights deals with many issues. It attempts to ensure humankind treat each other with respect and dignity. Islam is a religion that holds respect, dignity and tolerance in very high esteem and the rights and responsibilities inherent in Islam are a declaration of human rights.

One of the most important principles in Islam is that God created humankind to be fully accountable for his actions. Each human being has certain rights and responsibilities and no human being has the right to restrict the freedom of another. Anyone who dares to take away the God given rights inherent in Islam, including the right to human dignity, is called a wrongdoer or an oppressor. God calls on those who obey Him to stand up for the rights of the oppressed.

“And what is wrong with you that you fight not in the cause of God, and for those weak, ill treated, and oppressed among men, women, and children, whose cry is: “Our Lord! Rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from you one who will protect; and raise for us from you one who will help!” (Quran 4:75)

In article four of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights it states that no one shall be held in slavery or servitude; slavery and the slave trade shall be prohibited in all their forms. More than 1400 years ago Islam also tackled the issue of slavery.

In the 7th century CE, slavery was entrenched in Arabian society, just as it was in other societies and systems of law. Slaves were acquired easily via, warfare, debt, kidnapping and poverty; thus, prohibiting slavery outright would have been as useless as trying to outlaw poverty itself. Therefore, Islam placed restrictions and regulations on slavery designed to bring about its eventual abolishment.

There are no texts in the Quran, or in the traditions of Prophet Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, that enjoin the taking of slaves but there are countless texts calling for their freedom, including Muhammad’s simple yet deeply profound words, “Visit the ill, feed the hungry and release the slaves”. [1] Islamic law recognized slavery as an institution but restricted the sources of acquisition to one method only, captured prisoners of war and their families. Muslim leaders were encouraged to free prisoners of war or exchange them for ransom.

The principle of dealing with slaves in early Islam was a combination of justice, kindness, and compassion. Muslims pay a small portion of their yearly, accumulated income in compulsory charity and one of the lawful ways this money may be used is to free slaves. Freeing slaves is also the expiation for many sins, including breaking vows and accidental killings.

Over the past 200 years, Western culture has slowly abolished slavery but the trade of human beings has not abated. National Geographic estimates worldwide that there are 27 million men, women, and children who are currently enslaved. Although man made declarations and treaties have denounced slavery, ironically, on the open market, a slave is worth less today then he was 200 years ago.

Modern day “slaves” who are physically confined or restrained, or forced to work, or controlled through violence have no legal way to purchase their own freedom nor is there any legal body to oversee their treatment. Slavery exists under the radar and is usually associated with drugs, prostitution, and other illegal activities.

The restrictions imposed by Islam gave slaves rights and protection from ill treatment. The act of freeing a slave is a very virtuous act that will bless a person in this life and in the next. Islam has the inherent ability to recognise and regulate the undesirable characteristics of human nature.

Slavery and servitude will not be successfully abolished until humankind recognizes that God’s laws are the true embodiment of human rights. The same can be said of torture, and cruel and inhuman punishments. These detestable actions will not cease to exist until humankind as a whole realizes that there is a God and the worship of Him goes beyond coveting the life of this world. Torture exists today even though treaties and declarations including article five of the Universal Declaration of Human rights, call for the abandonment of such ill treatment.

Cruelty, including excessive punishment is forbidden in Islam. Each member of the human race is treated with due respect and dignity, regardless of race, colour creed, or nationality. Prophet Muhammad expressly prohibited cruel and unusual punishments even in times of war. He made it clear that no one should be burned alive or tortured with fire, and that wounded soldiers should not be attacked and prisoners of war should not be killed. He said to his followers, “you are neither hard hearted nor fierce of character”,[2] and he warned his people of being unjust, “for injustice shall be darkness on the Day of Requital.” [3]

Even prisoners of war in early Islamic history spoke highly of their captors. Blessings be on the men of Medina’, said one of these prisoners in later days, ‘they made us ride while they themselves walked; they gave us wheaten bread to eat when there was little of it, contenting themselves with dates.” [4] The second Caliph of Islam, Omar Ibn Al Khattab said, “A person would not be held responsible for his confession, if you inflicted pain upon him or scared him or imprisoned him [to obtain the confession].”[5]

The Cairo Declaration of Human Rights in Islam states in article 20 that “No one is to be arrested or his freedom restricted, exiled, or punished without adequate legal action. Individuals must not be subjected to physical or psychological torment or any other humiliating treatment.”

The enforcement of human rights in Islam is linked inextricably to the implementation of Islamic law. Islam promises that those who follow God’s rules and regulations will be rewarded with His guarantee of eternal Paradise. However choosing to restrict or take away rights given to humankind by God is a punishable offence. “On the Day of Requital, rights will be given to those to whom they are due (and wrongs will be redressed)…”[6]

  30. Well he was certainly giving a very deliberate one finger salute to the left-liberal elites. He attacked them directly and then indirectly. In Breivik’s mind he was attacking the Quislings rather than the Nazi invaders.

    1. Islam provides many human rights for the individual. The following are some of these human rights that Islam protects.

The life and property of all citizens in an Islamic state are considered sacred, whether a person is Muslim or not. Islam also protects honor. So, in Islam, insulting others or making fun of them is not allowed. The Prophet Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, said: “Truly your blood, your property, and your honor are inviolable.”[1]

Racism is not allowed in Islam, for the Quran speaks of human equality in the following terms:

“O mankind, We have created you from a male and a female and have made you into nations and tribes for you to know one another. Truly, the noblest of you with God is the most pious.[2] Truly, God is All-Knowing, All-Aware.” (Quran 49:13)

Islam rejects certain individuals or nations being favored because of their wealth, power, or race. God created human beings as equals who are to be distinguished from each other only on the basis of their faith and piety. The Prophet Muhammad said: “O people! Your God is one and your forefather (Adam) is one. An Arab is not better than a non-Arab and a non-Arab is not better than an Arab, and a red (i.e. white tinged with red) person is not better than a black person and a black person is not better than a red person,[3] except in piety.”[4]

One of the major problems facing mankind today is racism. The developed world can send a man to the moon but cannot stop man from hating and fighting his fellow man. Ever since the days of the Prophet Muhammad, Islam has provided a vivid example of how racism can be ended. The annual pilgrimage (Hajj) to Makkah shows the real Islamic brotherhood of all races and nations, when about two million Muslims from all over the world come to Makkah to perform the pilgrimage.

Islam is a religion of justice. God has said:

“Truly God commands you to give back trusts to those to whom they are due, and when you judge between people, to judge with justice….” (Quran 4:58)

      And He has said:

“…And act justly. Truly, God loves those who are just.” (Quran 49:9)

We should even be just with those who we hate, as God has said:

“…And let not the hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety….” (Quran 5:8)

The Prophet Muhammad said: “People, beware of injustice,[5] for injustice shall be darkness on the Day of Judgment.”[6]

And those who have not gotten their rights (i.e. what they have a just claim to) in this life will receive them on the Day of Judgment, as the Prophet said: “On the Day of Judgment, rights will be given to those to whom they are due (and wrongs will be redressed)…”[7]

  31. I think some people need to rethink this through. You seem to be justifying what this man did. If this mans ideology was worthy of following, you look at the fruit. Look at the fruit and you can see the spirit.

  32. this is probably the most honest article on the Bangsamoro problem and being a moro myself i feel i have to share my views.
1- first problem is why are some moros seem violent or barbaric- well after decades of war and distrust of government institutions this is the people that you get, warfreaks.
2- second problem is seemingly lack of concern by general population of moros- even if there is a civil society that thinks for itself and consider these other moros as wayward and wanted to shun criminality or lawlessness, it is powerless to do so. observe most muslim communities and you realise they don’t have collective power to exert themselves, there are usually no credible NGO’s or civil society groups that can do worthwhile civic projects ( those that exist rely on external donations). we don’t even have credible Press/ Media to propagate good intentions, always relying on nearby regional news organizations to report on our programs and issues.. so how do we go about resolving or even trying to alleviate such Bangsamoro problem, majority of moros say let us have autonomy to govern ourselves while others say independence. if we opt for autonomy will you and the rest of filipinos support us?

  33. religion, politics and hypocrisy reveals that rules in the Holy Quran have 100% accuracy. And most forensic psychologist will agree that Islam is the right religion.

  34. Who said if there is no muslim there is peace? Really?
Higher rate of criminality, corruptions, drug trafficking in Metro Manila?
    Muslim ba nakatira diyan? Weeeeeeh
