Irresponsible journalism in Philippine Media almost ruined US-Philippine relations

Thanks to US President Barrack Obama being such a good sport, the flames lit by the irresponsible journalism of both local and foreign media had been doused.

“As I said when I was asked about this in China, I don’t take these comments personally because it seems that this is a phrase he’s used repeatedly, directed at the Pope and others and so,” Obama said.

“I think it seems to be just a habit, a way of speaking for him,” he added.

Obama added that he doesn’t expect the controversy to affect the relationship of the two countries.

Amazingly, President Rodrigo Duterte, who fell victim to scoop-starved journalists’ perverse translation and interpretation of his words, came out relatively unscathed.

Filipinos are increasingly suspicious of the agenda of the handful of big oligarch-owned conglomerates that dominate their country’s media industry. Long-perceived to be overly-sympathetic to the Aquino-Cojuangco clan and the Liberal Party led by its scion former President Benigno Simeon ‘BS’ Aquino III, the reputation of these big media brands have since fallen into disrepute. They are based in what is now seen to be the Philippines’ “imperial” capital city of Manila by Duterte’s broad base of supporters from the Philippines’ southern regions.

Accustomed to schmoozing with the bigwigs of Manila politics for decades, Philippine corporate media seem ill-equipped to cover the country’s southern parts (Duterte’s home region) fairly and insightfully. This being outside of their element in the Philippines’ south likely contributed majorly to the catastrophic failure in presidential coverage that unfolded over the last several days.

Former Cabinet Secretary Rafael Alunan III, for his part, published on Facebook his brief but scathing take on the destructive conduct of both local and foreign media in the manner with which they reported Duterte’s speech before he departed for Laos last Friday.

The media that went to town saying that Du30 insulted Pres BHO should be singled out and sanctioned for malice and placing the country’s diplomatic relations with the U.S. at risk.

They are saboteurs working under the influence that ought to be blacklisted. Freedom of the press is not freedom to destroy. The latter deserves appropriate action in order to deliver unforgettable life lessons and alter behaviour.

Fortunately for Duterte, his “colourful” character may be scoring points and was even told by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe during a meeting at the Laos summit sidelines that he was “quite a famous figure also in Japan”. Just the same, it is also important that Duterte also consider the lessons that could be learned from this experience. A brush with what could have ended as a diplomatic disaster between the Philippines and its closest most powerful ally in the region is one close call too many.

  1. why is drilon and de lima opposing richard gordon’s suspension of the writ of habeas corpuz which is intended only for drug war and terrorism? there is no war or rebellion, but the pilipinos daily life is in trouble isn’t it? it’s clear these two don’t want a change. pilipinos should support richard gordon’s proposal if they want a change in the philippine society or suffer in the hands of the yellow dynasty.

    1. @ YT, WHAT? did you just say that the ‘Writ of Habeus Corpus’ is about to be suspended in the Philippines? IS THAT WHAT YOU WROTE? IF SO, then Filipino’s are in deeper shit than I thought, and on the way down the long slipperry slope of losing the Democracy they think they have. The Civil Right of the ‘Writ of Habeus Corpus’ MEANS: ‘PRODUCE THE BODY”, literally. It means that Filipino’s must be brought before a judge in a certain amount of time and be charged with a crime or be released. The loss of such a Civil right would mean indefinite detention for any reason at the hands of the state. This is the equivalent of being thrown back to pre-Magna Carta times……Filipino’s are gonna be fucked even worse than they are now if ‘Habeus Corpus’ had indeed been thrown out.AND YT asks why? OMG, wake the fuck up already.

      1. Yeah….escalated very quickly didnt it.
Im flabbergasted that anyone living in this era would be stupid enough to think this is a good idea.

Wake up people. U r getting royally fucked.

        1. IS THIS TRUE, Duterte wants to abolish the Writ Of Habeus Corpus? IF SO,IDK what to think of Filipino’s or this website any longer. Beningno seems like two different people, but thus article brings back an important truth about who the USA is to the Filippines.

BUT, on the other hand, if Duterte is ,IN FACT, doing away with Habeus Corpus writs,OMG..this has happened, just as was predicted it would, in an astonishingly short period of time.

Filipino’s, like many Americans, do not realize that their ‘Bill of Rights’ protects them from a hyper-prosecutorial state and the Habeus Corpus Writ is indispensable in a democratic state.

Sadly, Americans lost the 6th Amendment (Writ of Habeus Corpus) on December 31,2011 when Obamma signed the NDDA while most Americans were getting drunk for New Years Eve.Even more Sad, most Americans do not even realize it has happened.

        2. if you live here and experience what this yellow retarded people has been doing to our Nation, then maybe you will understand why in 1986 Mr. Marcos declared Martial Law. These political opposition will do anything and everything to assert their will upon the people which the Duterte Administration is trying to correct.. beside the fact that these corrupt leaders took most of the money intended for the people from our National coffers, most of them were the coddlers of illegal drug menace that put 3M Filipinos dependent to drugs, and together with high ranking officials in our political and military sectors involve in the illegal drug trade..with these they are trying to stall the effort of the government to cleanse our society with drugs criminality and corruption, that is how deep is our trouble.. now tell me, shall i confer and talk peace with them, while the4 innocent people were dying everyday from the hands of drug addicts, children were rape, lives destroyed, family destroyed and a never ending scenario of horrible crimes committed against innocent people. As what Duterte said the lives and rights of the innocent victims were paramount to the rights of the criminals who perpetrated heinous crimes. i hope you put that in your righteous mind, and don’t be a hypocrite..

        3. Jimmy. Marcos did not declare martial law in 1986.
People power pushed him out that year.
Your opening statement just proved how misinformed u r.

There are 3 million filipinos dependent on drugs?
Where did u pull those figures from?

Are all drug users involved in henious crimes?
          No.
I do agree the lives of INNOCENT Victims are paramount…to bad his administration does not think so.
Oit of the 3200 people killed so far…..how many do u think were actually guilty of any of the crimes u think they were?

          Go back to sleep jimmy.
Your opinions are devoid of any facts.

        4. TheVoiceofRetards:

Says the guy who is utterly misinformed in the first place when it comes to Marcos and martial law, always posting ridiculous claims, presenting them as ‘facts’.

If someone should go to sleep, it should be pretentious misinformed TROLLS like yourself. Because you are always circlejerking every argument with your opinions, posing as facts.

      2. Birds Eye Benny,

“The Civil Right of the ‘Writ of Habeus Corpus’ MEANS: ‘PRODUCE THE BODY”, literally. It means that Filipino’s must be brought before a judge in a certain amount of time and be charged with a crime or be released.”

This is exactly what should have been done to the high profile Maguindanao Massacre, Erap’s “Huweteng” scandal, GMA’sweepstake plunder, the Pork Barrel scandal and others, but didn’t, because money and power talk louder than fair justice, and will buy more “due process” time for these high-rolling motherfuckers until their cases are forgotten and swept under the carpet.

Now Duterte’s instilling swift and effective justice in this country-full of criminals and you’re crying like a sex-deprived Bitch because it’s waking the people up on what needs to happen in their “lawless” society.

The problem with you is you’re not used to not getting your fucking ways of twisting the law in your favor, so you can make the crooked straight and the straight crooked.

        Fucking YellowTard.

        Aeta

        1. Two weeks ago duterte claims crime down by 49%( his words, no staistics) now we have a ” state of lawnesses”
In just two weeks from the statement that crime is down.

          Does this compute to u?

        2. because a bombing occurred.
if it was the lp in power, theyd just wait for the media to bombard the citizens with garbage and it will be instantly forgotten, much like what happened with the lumads.
          now that computes.

        3. TheVoiceofTreason,

Yes, it computes. One antsiness plus another antsiness on your part is equal to one impatience sonofabitch in you.

Mathematically, 1 plus 1 doesn’t equal to 1, but that’s good enough for a half-wit Yellowtard like you.

          Aeta

        4. A bombing occured because your president declared all out war on a terroist group known for bombing.

What did u think was going to happen when he said they were going to destroy the muslim terroists groups?
They were just going to lay down and wait to be destroyed?

No need for a state of lawnesses if crime has been down by almost 50%. One bombing does not take it up over they ammount the claimed they reduced.
          Honestly. Some people.
Also aeta. Your comment makes very little sense

      1. @ YT, the 1st sentence says ‘against suspension of writ of habeus corpus’ so WTF do YOU think that means? I did not write that shit and IF YOU DID, you need to learn English a little better or understand what you hear? maybe both? IDK.I STILL don’t know if ‘Writ of Habeus Corpus’ has been suspended in that country, BUT IF IT HAS BEEN, FILIPINO’s are FUCKED, as simple as that.

        1. Unfortunately, son, seems you rely on your EMOTIONAL OUTBURSTS rather than logical thinking.

          Plain and simple.

        2. Birds Eye Benny,

Who gives a shit whether “Writ of Habeus Corpus” has been suspended in this country or not? Nobody give a fuck anymore. Why? Because whatever fucking law you try to reference in this country has already been mutilated by the conniving politicians and had lost its true meaning to the people.

It never ceases to amaze me how you, and the rest of your alter-ego bitches (Tell It Like It Is, Pallacertus, and TheVoiceofTreason), try to convince everyone on GRP that your “Conspiracy Theory” sources are reliable and pertinent to the lives of the Filipino people, in order to back up your “Yellow-tard” arguments and to make it look like you know what you’re talking about.

You’re nothing but a bunch of paid “cunts” by the Yellow Party who nobody listens to, and the only way you can feel any ounce of self-importance is to impose your “twisted fantasies” on this site, to distract the writer and readers from finding the truth

        4. @ aets……

          What?
Honestly the only person devoid of a single fact here is u.
Your comments are full of conspiracy theories and lopsided hate filled opinions that have never been grounded in reality.

I love it when people link facts and statistics to their comments and people like you try to claim these facts and figures are biased because it does not fit in with thier opinons.

The only person that lives in fantasy land is you.
You have zero facts, zero links to back up your wild claims.
The only thing u do have is a potty mouth that you curse with thinking somehow that cursing makes up for your lies.

Yeah does not work for your president, why do u think it will work for u?

        5. @TheVoiceofNOReason:

Pot calling the kettle black, are we?

Because you like to post half-truths, posing them as ‘facts’ and ‘statistics’ that could be questionable. In other words, a circlejerk of sorts.

        6. @ aeta, you think I am a paid yellow troll? YOU ARE NOT EVEN TOO FUNNY. You are so far off the mark, you must have got hold of some anti-freeze/coolant and drank it.

          WOW, U R A FUCKIN RETARD.

        7. Okay, Okay. You’re not a “paid yellow troll,” Tell It Like It Is. You’re just a working skank who tries to make a living, regardless of what it does to your conscience and reputation. I can’t blame you for trying, hussy.

    2. Drilon is the one who had “Dragon” Odicta the drug lord killed. He is just trying to keep his name clean. His cronies in Iloilo, namely Mayor Mabilog etc. have already been outed as Narco-Mayors. His turn will come. He is afraid of the suspension of the writ because he will be one of those arrested.

    3. Gordon can propose but it’s the president’s decision. the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus can only be suspended in case of invasion or rebellion. however, as the commander-in-chief (the pres.) of AFP, he may call out such armed forces to prevent or suppress lawless violence.

    4. Because, popular prejudice and Dick Gordon (a man and administrator I had admired and still respect, but whose advocacy here I strongly oppose) becoming a budding fascist in his old age aside, implementing this will all too easily lead to the Duterte administration orchestrating (in addition to the apprehension or actual drug personalities or terrorists) the abduction of anyone whose sin it is to criticize the current government, and then justifying it by either issuing plausible denials or else saying that those abducted were suspected terrorists or drug addicts/pushers/protectors/et cetera.

In almost every democratic state (with the notable exception of the Union under Lincoln during the Civil War) where the writ was suspended for a time, whether or not its suspension was accompanied by the discarding of the democratic apparatus altogether in favor of more authoritarian ones, this is more or less what happened.

I don’t give a shit if you value retribution over rehabilitation for the majority of criminals or suspected criminals in this country — but I will say this: if you are a law-abiding Pinoy patriot, you should know that you can’t uphold the law by flouting it, just as you can’t save the country by sending its people to a state-sponsored slaughterhouse.

  2. those who opposed a change in philippine society is a crime of betraying one’s country, by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government. that is ‘TREASON’ very clear.

    1. @ YT, SO WAIT, you want a CHANGE for the better by throwing the ‘Writ of Habeus Corpus’ thrown out? RU KIDDING? DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT WOULD BE GETTING THROWN OUT?
You best be careful what you ask for.

        1. Hate to tell ya, but people who loves to misinterpret things are the ones who are actually stupid.

          Go figure.

      1. Only criminals should be afraid. Im sure you are not.

Criminals especially drug pushers have no right to live. No hope for them. They should all bite the dust

        1. honestly.
Did u learn nothing from history?
I do not even know how to address the stupidity in this tatement.

        2. What’s the fuss about suspension of the writ of habeas corpus,…when, a fellow senator of drilon & de lima wanted to author a bill, for that matter? However, if, the need arises, we, the 90 million DU30 supporters , may force the issue, as, we are already disgusted of the evil schemes of proponents of “daang natuwad”.

        3. @ VofR, Can you really believe the STUPIDITY of these two?
@bluefad, NO EVERYONE will have to look out, no evidence will be required, all that will be necessary is just ‘SOMEONE(who may not like you)s word..’ to lock you up for a decade.
@Edge Matt, Whats the fuss? When the cops come and arrest you because someone said they think you are a terrorist and you are thrown in jail with no court date except,MAYBE, in ten years….THEN YOU TELLME WHAT THE FUSS IS,HOW ABOUT THAT? YOU FUCKIN IDIOT.

        4. @voiceofreason. Most of us have been loving in fear of these criminals for so long, its only now that we gathered the courage to speak up.

        5. @Fags Eye Faggy

Even Richard Gordon said it best:

“I AM NOT PROPOSING MARTIAL LAW. On the contrary. What I am proposing will prevent Martial Law. It will give our chief executive and our police force real but limited powers. It puts restraints on what they can and can’t do. It clearly defines the process within the rule of law.

Just admit that you’re a TROLL and everything will be fine.

        6. @voice oftreasin: yes. i learned in history that:

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.” -The Notorious T.F.J.

    2. Liberal Party lapdogs Drilon & De Lima think it is nobler to protect heinous criminals & drug lords than the decent citizens of this country. They would rather hinder more aggressive & effective means to fight the illegal drug trade to prevent sincere public servants like DU30 or Gordon from succeeding, simply because they don’t belong to the BullSh!t political opportunistic party clique they belong!

LP hounds, don’t be too comfy just yet, as the hottest nastiest corner in hell may be reserved for monsters like you!

      1. Duterte seems to think its ok to protect drug lords.
Even let one get on a plane out of the country.
Actually, how many drug lords has he caught.
Boy i really can not wait for u duterte supporters to eat your humble pie.
Its comming, martial law to a philippines near u.

        1. Its comming, martial law to a philippines near u.

Don’t hold your breath. I’ll be waiting for your comments in GRP after six years about that. But then again, if your stooge of a vice president does get to sit in the president’s chair, I won’t have to wait that long now, would I?

        2. The ‘yellow party’, through political manipulation, provides these drug lords & syndicates a haven & climate to flourish—i.e. to run around (or away) as they please. Then, blame Du30 for trying to fight these scums with one hand tied behind his back.

Isn’t that the Devil’s modus—-make it hard for goodness to succeed, then blame God for the terrible hardships people suffer in their lives?

The first thought that comes to mind with your hypothetical ‘martial law’ scenario is that the yellow ampalaya bandwagon would have succeeded in letting lawlessness rise to the point of national instability. Martial Law = thanks to the tireless efforts of the yellow brigade!

Forget helping our Philippine society—It’s all politics to the LP!

        3. Du30 fought these scums in Davao without need for Martial Law. He doesn’t need it. Only the yellow party truly needs it, to benefit from it—to find an excuse for fear-mongering & to apply their usual subversive political tactics.

        4. My vice president?
Really do u think i voted for her?
U r even sillier than your comments make u appear.

Sure…if the last 3 months has anything to go by.

          @ felipe.
          Ummmmm
So philippines has gone from the best performer in asia.
Too two weeks ago a 49% in crime( straight from your lord and saviors mouth) to a state of lawnesses?

Are u seriously for real that u do not see whats happening?
Nothing that comes out of that camp is true or based in reality.

I fear u and the rest of the commenters on this site have either lost the plot or u r ne of dutertes online army.
Du30 fought drugs and crime in duterte for 20 years.
Yet drugs and crime in davao are still a problem.
He had 20 years in davao to stop it and he couldn’t.
          The facts do not lie.
          Just u do.

        5. Oh please. Enough of that I hate the yellows too crap. ???? yellows are good at that and, unfortunately, very obvious. It’s not too hard to sniff you out. But yeah you can keep knocking. ????

I have no…READ ZERO political ties or affiliations.
Just because i can see what is happening( as can many people that r leaving or planning exit strategies) and I criticize what needs to be criticized, does not many i support any politicsl party so stop with your deflection bullshit. Its so childish.
          @ kekguy
Did u call blue eye a fag?
Please look up latent homosexuality…its ok. We do not care if u r.
Now u claimed my statisitcs i posted were half truths( somehow philippine data must lie u say)
What half truths do u think i am responsible for.
U make the claim that i habe lied.
Now add the facts and links that prove me wrong….awww. Do those not exist?
When u call someone a liar back it up with facts or a link.
Otherwise its quiet obvious its u who is lying.
Or do u think anyone reading these coments is stupid enough to believe you?

        8. I have no…READ ZERO political ties or affiliations.

But of course. Because you said so, right? Figures. =)

He’s not pointing about your statistics, casual. He’s just pointing out your own circlejerking w/ your own ‘facts’. Not to mention your one-sided and biased statements. Just because there is one who would prefer to look on both sides of the story doesn’t mean he’s a ‘liar’ or something.

You failed to realize that when it comes to the Marcoses or martial law, you are easily triggered. Then you went full EMO on it. So yours is nothing but empty rhetoric, not facts.

If I were you, son, set your priorities for once. You should follow Antonio Contreras’ advice.

        10. @ TheVoiceofReason (yeah right!)

          @ felipe.

So by your logic, let’s just let these drug lords & the drug trade thrive, because you so dislike Du30?

What a lazy-arse cowardly logic you’re espousing there!

Keep on trolling. GRP feeds their trolls. GRP gets more ‘clicks’ that way 😉

    3. I agree, Lets start to those who didnt vote for duterte in the past election. They are traitors of our country. Shame on them. I hope the government will make their lives a living hell

  3. “Putang Ina” is like the , “Fuck” word in America…or the “F word”, as they call it…

Americans usually swear and use the: “Fuck” word …

They can say : “This fucking car” ! If they had been sold a “lemon car” by a scamming car dealer. Literally, it translates to nothing. Since, a car cannot “Fuck”…or a car cannot do sex with anybody !

These YellowTard Media, owned by the Feudal Oligarchs, aligned with the Aquino Cojuangco axis (the axis of evil); and with the Chinese Triad Mafia crime syndicate. Were the ones, who twisted the “Putang Ina” word of Pres. Duterte. They wanted to pander for American support, to oust Pres. Duterte; and put Leni Rob redo, as President.

They feel the heat of the War on Drugs, and the Abu Sayaff defeat…so they will do anything to survive !

    1. They feel the heat of the War on Drugs, and the Abu Sayaff defeat…so they will do anything to survive !?????
      Abu sayaf was defeated?
Duterte won the war on drugs?
      In only 3 months?
Wow he really is a God or you are full of shit?

I wonder which one it is

      1. All of them will be won…Aquino is full of shit…Pres. Duterte is a DOER…Aquino is lazy and incompetent ! Aquino is the ass wiper of the Americans… YellowTards are here to cry , because they are no longer in power ! And they cannot do anything about it! It will be when Pigs will fly, when their hope: Leni Rob redo, will become a President !

      2. he is the second coming for the pilipinos. nobody can take that out of our minds. we see the fall of the yellow regime.

        1. Lol who here is a liberal party supporter?
Just because so far everything i have predicted has come true and nothing u have claimed is.
I think the only think u support is fabricated bullshit.

you are right yellow tard it is the second coming.
          Marcos2.0

        2. Lol who here is a liberal party supporter?
Just because so far everything i have predicted has come true and nothing u have claimed is.
I think the only think u support is fabricated bullshit.

you are right yellow tard it is the second coming.
          Marcos2.0

I don’t know if you’re overexagerrating or not.

Oh yeah, says the guy whose only aim is to remain the status quo and remain the things they were and nothing else changes. Same old shit, as they say.

        3. @ kekguy.
I want the status quo to remain?
Pls link where i have ever said or even hinted at that?

I know u can not as u r just making shit up trying to paint me as a biased enemy so that u can live in your fantasy land where u think u r right.
          Your not.
Next time u claim u know something about me, take a deep breathe and realize u have zero idea about me.
I actually do care about the people of this country.
          All of them.

As for over exaggerating . Should not take u long to go through my comments to see i never lie.
          I never exaggerate.
I do not have uninformed opinions.

I do not have opinions. Just facts

        4. TheVoiceofNigs:

Says the guy who claims to state ‘facts’ but in reality, you’re just posting half-truths.

So yeah, you’re just posting ‘opinions’.

      3. They “feel”……

Let me rephrase that for you..

They “feel” the heat of the War on Drugs and they “feel” the Abu Sayyaf defeat.

Let me explain that for you:

        1. They “feel” the heat of the War on Drugs – Nararamdaman nila ang lumalalang war on drugs

        2. They “feel” the Abu Sayyaf defeat – Nararamdaman nila ang pagkatalo ng abu sayyaf

  4. probe de lima and prosecute her the punishment she has done to the motherland of the pilipinos, treason. then the citizens will believe there’s really a change. arrest all those who derails prosperity for the pilipino nation.

    1. Oh…I have seen the sex video of De Lima…the guy having sex with her; may had been forced to do sex with her. I saw, De Lima is like a fat pig, without clothes on.

How does it feel having sex with a pig ? Instead of arousing your libido…it was disgusting to watch !

  5. And here we wonder why international media seems to be echoing “misinterpretations” by our local media, when the same overarching force that had Marcos Sr. ousted and Aquino installed are the very same forces working now to probably do the same to President Duterte. So somebody from outside are helping the dilaw cult, who by now apparently have connections to the drug trade

  6. We are proud Pilipinos because of you president Rody Duterte. the power of the people are all behind you against those who opposed a change in philippine society a crime of betraying one’s country, by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government. the Philippines will not come to an end, we will proper.

  7. Misleading journalism, can’t they be sued? Since they keep sabotaging a person and a country though false information. Personally, I think they should be fined for $$$$$ because that’s what brought them to do such actions.

  8. What a crock…again. The paranoia is now running freely. Unfortunately not on the right things.

Firstly let’s not forget that the words did come from his mouth….while a large media contingent was in front of him. Oh poor diddams…the nasty media yellowtards made him angry and he gobbed off. Nobody is to blame but the President himself for what comes out of his mouth. Or are you saying that he is not responsible for his own brain and temperament? He is unable to control himself and what he says?

Secondly, he is responsible for setting himself up for any deliberate attempt to bait him. He has shown repeatedly to the media that he can’t control his gob and at any minute is likely to spray some shit. Shit that is going to be great headlines and boost readership.

Thirdly it doesn’t really matter whether the words were intended for Obama or the the journalist. They were used in direct regard to the question about Obama saying he would be pushing the issue of human rights. Damage done, and rightly so. Don’t blame the journalist…it’s a very valid question. Saying the journalist is to blame is absolute bullshit.

Is this guy the President of the Philippines? Or some special child/ tourettes sufferer/ mental deficient that needs special treatment?

Next step? “it’s okay to kill journalist that ask me questions that annoy me….”

By the way….the declaration of a state of emergency due to violent lawlessness is far more damaging to the Philippines than anything Delima can do by asking questions about extra judicial killings. But of course Filipinos in their simplicity don’t get that. They’re all to busy arguing the legality of it and what it means…while buisnesses, investors and tourists are thinking…hmmm, ok.

    1. So tell us then, what should the government do to prevent terrorism? at least give us a proposal. How do you enforce law, catch drug users/pushers without risking anyone’s safety or life?

Kagaya din ng mga LP mga to. Puro ingay lang, wala namang nagawa. Panggulo lang talaga. Mga SALOT sa lipunan.

      1. Well they are 180 countries doing it every single day,
Maybe see how thy r doing it instead of asking a forum.
        It is the information age.
But only in the philippines is it the disinformation era.
Seems every other country does it without huge loss of life and innocent children dying.
How bout u take a note

        1. Give us specifics on those anti-drug ops of 180 countries you mentioned. Include statistics and their method of operation.
How about illegal drug use and dealings in the US? How are they managing? Tell us. Dyan mo patunayan ang “voiceofreason” ek-ek mo. kasama ng mga kapareho mo ditong puro pagkontra lang ang alam. Dapat kayo na kumokontra ang mag- isip kung ano ang ibang solusyon na epektibo. Kung wala, what’s your point in complaining?
The other direction you’re really pointing at is inaction, and allowing the destruction of the country through drug-related crimes and literal na pagkasira ng ulo ng mga addict. milyun-milyon yan.
Btw, the child was killed by criminals, not by the police.

        2. Inaction….nailed what exactly?

I have no clue dea how the US is managing their drug problem but i hear they have been managing very well with low crime and lower hard drug users since legalizing marijuana.

Lets instead look ar countries that have taken Duterte’s approach.
          Drugs 79-0.
Oh so its failed everytime its been implemented?
Ok well, how about we just keep trying the same failed way…its not like we can learn from other peoples mistakes.

Get a grip, u guys sound just like fanatics.
Spinning bullshit when faced with the truth.
U habe zero facts to back up a single thing.
Unless u can disprove me, then do not reply.
Its your job to come up with proof im wrong.
The acuser is always the one responsible to back up their opinions with facts.
          Good luck.
I hate lazy commentators who disagree yet offer zero facts to back up their remarks.
          Go back to sleep.
          Be a sheep.

    2. Not just thinking hmmm.
They r pulling out investments left right and centre.
The sick man of asia is back, but this time. With the added bons of mental problems.

      1. The “Sick Man of Asia” are Aquino, and his Chinese Triad Drug Mafia crime syndicate partners. The one with mental problems are , Aquino and his YellowTards.

Now, they are howling to the wind ! Poor People…they lost their power and government jobs…they want them back !

        1. Aquino’s YellowTard GRP Trolls: “Bo…Hooo !…we don’t have Aquino, anymore ! They closed the Pro Pinoy Web Site ! Our Drug Lord partners are all hiding, afraid to be shoot ! No more source of money !” LOL !!!

        2. Ignorance excuses no one, as does having limited knowledge of a subject but pretending u know everythingbut accusing people of being supporters of a different political regime, just because they criticize the governement for the continual bumbling and inability to organize,
Nor give people straight information and defending their horrible policies by pointing out countries that are doing worse things( i know, sounds unbelieveable to think someone actually thinks this is an excuse)as some kind of excuse for doing things shit.

          Nah u r the traitor.
When u think its ok to sacrifice or kill one of your own people or do not yell and scream when a child is killed from an immoral policy.
Its you that is a traitor.
          Pathetic.

        3. @TheVoiceofCUCKS:

          Nah u r the traitor.
When u think its ok to sacrifice or kill one of your own people or do not yell and scream when a child is killed from an immoral policy.
Its you that is a traitor.
          Pathetic.

Nice trolling, son. Your EMO comments won’t go you nowhere. Now you’re spamming on this site.

        4. Spamming?
Emo comments?( i have no idea what that is)
Do u have anything constructiveor intelligent to add to the discussion?

        5. @TheVoiceofCUCKS:

          Welp, spoken like a TROLL.

Honestly, you didn’t even add anything intelligent to this discussion due to your EMO-inducing comments. In other words, you’re using EMOTIONS just to circlejerk any discussion you’re in.

    1. Reads like a jingoistic onion skin defense to me. Unimaginative american food. All too obvious where this guy is coming from. Let’s see…what’s on the menu of Filipinos favourite fast food joint. What a f@cking joke. Failipinos will almost always collectively defend the indefensible when it’s out in the open outside the Failippines.

  9. “Thanks to US President Barrack Obama being such a good sport…..”
    =======
And that’s where the problem lies.

By saying that the ugly outburst of the PH President was just “a habit” or a phrase he uses repeatedly, hence he’s moving past the episode, the US leader has succeeded in showing that he’s the mature, civil and compose one in the room.

We can all complain about the media or irresponsible journalism all day long but as long as Duterte keeps on feeding them fodder to chew on he’ll continue to hug the limelight with those irresponsible and embarrassing statements.

No offense meant but I don’t think anyone here will do and say the same thing if given the opportunity to be in his position. And we all know why.

Lastly, I do not agree that Obama was being “sport” by moving on. That’s the self-serving interpretaion on our side. On their side? He’s just showing who is really the better man. : )

    1. @Gnonid, it shows that Obamma doesn’t take Duterte seriously and doesn’t give a shit what the guy says. Afterall, Duterte is the President of a 3RD World HELL-HOLE, Obamma is the President of the biggest, most POWERFUL country on Earth. Trust,Obamma doesn’t give a shit what Roddy Duterte says any more than he gives a shit about what is written here about him.

Duterte=BUFFOON. Obamma=IDK? but Obamma is more of a Statesman than Duterte will ever dream of being.

and BTW, Obama still cancelled the scheduled meeting with Duterte after Obamma heard what Duterte allegedly said.

    2. “Better man” my arse. He’s a lame duck President, just like Aquino just 3-4 months ago lol. He knows that he has no power or influence there anymore. There is nothing he can do.

  10. Journalists/Media Practitioners in the Failippines can talk for hours about things they do not understand. Things are seldom what they seem, skimmed milk masquerades as cream.

  11. let’s show the power of the people here behind president duterte. let the yellowtards come out defending ‘cuz reckoning is coming on tuesday the breaking of the wall at the senate. arrest those who’ll defend de lima by the power of the people.

  12. Reading the comments here I have decided to not reply anymore to the posts of lobotomized yellow trolls.

I have nothing against a good debate, but some posters here are just too brainwashed to have any normal conversation with.

This treasonous and distorted talk against our president makes me sick, because these people seem to have forgotten all too fast what a god-damned disaster the last administration was. Corruption and idiotic incompetence was the daily routine. You have all been ass-fucked for the last 6 years and it turns out that you seem to enjoy it.

You can post all you want, I wont reply to your shit anymore.

Other should follow suit. I’m done talking to you dumb fucking assholes!

    1. @ JdG, The last admin,ONLY? LOL, Might Try the last 50 years being a series of criminals, one just as bad as the next (or the last)OR DID you forget the ‘Jue-Teng’ Kid,E-CRAP? or GMA selling used heicopters back to the people and keeping the money AFTER she was caught red-handed? EE-GAD MAN, R U A FILIPINO? U SAY U R AN AMERICAN AND YET TALK ABOUT DUTERTE AS “OUR” President.

Wait, that last sentence tells me, your an American, with the ‘YOU DUMB FUCKING ASSHOLES’ comment.BWAH HA HA, LOL, you do realize how DUMB you sound?

      1. Wait till he finds out duterte has sold the country to china.
Anonymous Chinese business man sponsored his campaign.
Decides to not use the legal arbitrary decision agreed upon by the un.
obviously is fully backing the killings being done.
Let’s go the big drug lords.
And is selling out Philippines land to china.
Tell me again what has this current president acomplished?
100s of millions of dollars pulled out by investors.
        Strained political alliances.
        Humiliation on the world stage.
Miscommunications, blatant lies and tril by media witch hunts.
Now we have a state of lawnesses proclamation.
We r one move away from martial law in less than 3 months.
        Gee….talk about ass fucked.
Just u r pushing back into it and asking for more.

        1. TheVoiceofTreason,

“Wait till he finds out duterte has sold the country to china.”

If he (Duterte) did sell out, it wouldn’t have made any fucking difference because the Yellow Party has been doing that shit for the past 30 years. Why do you think 9 out of 10 billionaires in the Philippines are Chinese-Filipino?

Bitch, wake up and stop telling more lies than what you’ve already told. You, Pallacertus, Tell It Like It Is, and your new-found bitch, Birds Eye Benny, are all Yellow Party members disguised as “Do-Gooders” and “Conspiracy Theorists” to throw this whole site off on a tangent to confuse everyone.

I know exactly what you 4 Bitches are trying to do and the writers and readers on this site need to be aware of that. You four need to get a hotel room and jack each other off while you work on your next tactics.

          Aeta

        2. Apparently, you’re clueless. We’re already ass fucked back then and that was after 1986. And Aeta has a point; most of the rich businessmen here are Chinese-Filipino, so what’s your point?

Please take your TROLLING to somewhere else and set your priorities for once.

        3. @TheVoiceofCUCKS:

Did you ever try to use REALITY CHECK to back up your ridiculous claims?

          No?

          Then you’re BUTTHURT.

  13. The “disente”crowd’s panties are once again in a bunch because of the news that Obama did not shake Duterte’s hand at the East Asia summit (read here http://news.abs-cbn.com/news/09/08/16/no-duterte-obama-handshake-at-east-asia-summit ).

This was supposedly on account of a “shocking” presentation that Duterte made at a closed-door meeting with only heads of state and officials present. Duterte gave the presentation on America’s bloody oppression of Filipinos during the colonial period after Obama gave a speech on human rights.

I was against Duterte’s public tirade against Obama before he flew to Laos. But this time, I want to stand up and applaud.

Why? Because when Duterte did his pre-departure rant, I thought his message was right but his timing was off. He should have waited until he and Obama were face to face and out of direct media earshot so his message would get across without distortions.

And now, he actually did it. Through a presentation that he made in the presence of other ASEAN heads of state. It seems he planned this all along, even though he had a different prepared speech.

The shallow-thinking “disente” crowd won’t be able to get over their embarrassment at Duterte’s “shocking, uncouth” behavior to see the real significance of this incident. To them, this will just be another tirade.

But there is a certain group that will be smart enough to see the real point here—the ASEAN heads of state.

Many of whom, at one point or another, have been accused by the US and the UN of violating human rights because they went to extraordinary means to fix the extraordinary problems in their countries.

We all know how the West criticized the draconian policy on drugs and media of Lee Kuan Yew, father of current Singapore prime minister Lee Hsien Loong. We know how the West slammed Joko Widodo for strictly enforcing the death penalty on drug traffickers in Indonesia, including executing foreign offenders such as Europeans and Australians. We know how protests have been staged by human rights activists in front of the UN headquarters in New York to discredit Cambodia’s prime minister Hun Sen. (Sound familiar? Loida Nicolas-Lewis needs to tell her principals that their handbook on regime change badly needs an update.)

By calling out America’s hypocrisy right to its face, Duterte, in behalf not only of the Filipinos but of the entire ASEAN, delivered the long-deserved “F*ck off” that has been at the tip of the tongue of nearly every Southeast Asian leader since the 1970s.

I never thought I would see the day, but a galvanized, unified ASEAN that will stand together against external interference seems to finally be emerging after all these years. Change is coming.

(P.S. You will note from the ABS-CBN report linked to above that the author says “alleged human rights violations during the Philippine-American War”. They use the word “alleged” when referring to historically documented atrocities committed by American soldiers against Filipinos, but not when they insinuate that Filipino policemen are behind the unexplained killings of drug pushers. That is “patriotic” Philippine journalism for you. It brings the word “presstitute” to a whole new level.)

  14. there’s no pilipino citizens who suffered during martial law except those crimes of betraying one’s country, by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government… the communist. until now they’re trying hard to change history brainwashing the youth. the book ‘marcos martial law never again’ is a book of evil and should never introduce in the educational curriculum. ferdinand marcos will be at the LNMB that’s what the people wants.

    1. Wow.
      Just wow.
      Yeah…u r fully out there.
This is not a conspiracy theory.
U r swallowing the marcos propoganda hook line and sinker.
U do realize u r completely wrong and are an idiot right?

The whole world knows about the Marco’s.
The r in the guiness book of world records for the most money ever Stolen.

How much do they pay u to troll the internet?

      1. TheVoiceofTreason (a.k.a “Notradumbass),

Bitch, the people who swallowed your so-called “Marcos Progaganda” are not ashamed to do it because life was good for all Filipinos back then—unless you’re one of those ambitious motherfuckers like Ninoy Aquino, Hemie Lopez, Sr., and other wannabees who who wanted a taste of power, too.

I’d rather swallow the Marcoses’ propaganda and have a decent life, than buy into the Yellow Party brainwashing propaganda and suffer as OFWs or turn to a life of crime to survive in this oligarch-monopolized economy.

There is a big difference in the quality of life before and after the EDSA Revolution; and, for someone who’s still “wet-behind-the-ears” like you, who probably was not even alive during Martial Law, will never understand what I’m talking about.

Tell that to your fellow bitches (Tell It Like It Is, Birds Eye Benny, and Pallacertus), and I’ll wait for you faggots to come after me with your YellowTard logic.

        Fuck You All,

        Aeta

        1. Just reminding Aeta that I didn’t touch his idol Marcos or destroy his idylls or even talk about him and the merits or demerits of his presidency at length then or now, so will he please can his baseless bullshit ASAP?

Or does Aeta give his respect only to those who abase themselves before his idols?

          I wonder.

      2. Thanks for proving that you’re just any other typical Yellow Troll. 🙂

Just because this guy never believe in your(?) petty Yellow Propaganda means he believes in Marcos propaganda? Get a load on there, son. Nice logic.

And when was the Guinness Book of World Records became a proof of your political achievements? And about the ‘most money ever stolen’ crap? It’s just $10 billion. But it’s peanuts compared to the hundreds and billions that are stolen each and every day in various ways; even smuggling during the last 6 years is in the trillions.

Too bad you’re circlejerking the argument with your own brand of hearsay and LOL EVIL Marcos. Please suppress your emotions and stop overrating stuff because when it comes to this kind of discussion about Marcos because you’re not using reason. Ironically, you’re using hate.

        You get cucked.

      3. You’re also completely wrong and an idiot since you’re just a one-sided jackass.

I just want to remind you that Risa Hontiveros is a crook; she’s an activist and a crooked leftist. She is a part of Akbayan.

Kid, just admit you just went FULL RETARD with what you wrote.

        1. There’s nothing wrong with being a leftist, just as there’s nothing wrong with being a moderate or a rightist. What is wrong is not putting your beliefs on a grinder.

          Just saying.

        2. @Pallacertus:

Seems you have no idea that leftists are mostly connected with socialism/Communism.

          Just saying.

        3. Most leftists are, yes. It doesn’t follow that they can’t contribute to society by offering their own point of view, so long as the violent potential inherent in too zealously following ideological certainty heedless of practical uncertainties and pragmatic considerations are avoided.

  15. the writ of habeas corpuz can be suspended if, if the public safety requires it. isn’t the pilipinos life in danger or not? only those who have intentions to do crimes are against it. during martial law the livelihood of the pilipinos were peaceful and safe. communism is against it ‘cuz to do crime is in their minds. martial law is the enemy of communism.

  16. the yellows is suffering and in panic mode even their postings here can be read clearly. they’re doing their best to overcome the fall of their regime. they’re coming out one by one all over the nation. de lima going to jail. who’s next??

  17. This article by a scholar from the University of Sydney named Adele Webb (“He may have insulted Obama, but Duterte held up a long-hidden looking glass to the US”)—is going viral and is an absolute must-read. Forward it to all your friends.
    https://theconversation.com/he-may-have-insulted-obama-but-duterte-held-up-a-long-hidden-looking-glass-to-the-us-65085

I just want to add one bit of detail. In the article, Webb cites a quote from an essay written in 1901 by Mark Twain (yes, the same Mark Twain who wrote Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer). Twain strongly opposed America’s decision to colonize the Philippines. He wrote:

“There must be two Americas: one that sets the captive free, and one that takes a once-captive’s new freedom away from him, and picks a quarrel with him with nothing to found it on; then kills him to get his land.”

The line “one that sets the captive free” refers to America’s decision to abolish slavery in the mid 1860s.

The line “one that takes a once-captive’s new freedom away from him” refers to America’s decision to colonize the Philippines instead of letting it go free after the Filipinos already won independence from Spain.

Twain was basically equating America’s colonization of the Filipinos with America’s enslavement of the black people.

Growing up, we never learned about these things because our history books were written by American colonial officials. We should be grateful that Duterte’s rants have brought out these long-hidden truths, so we Filipinos will know our real history, not the version fed to us by foreigners.

Do you notice how the yellow media are unusually quiet about the Bud Dajo massacre and the atrocities of the Philippine-American war that President Duterte has been talking about? Normally, the yellow media have a full stable of “analysts” to comment and parse every word that comes out of Duterte’s mouth. But now, when it comes to this most crucial subject that deserves thorough discussion, they are silent.

It seems the yellow media still have the mentality of slaves in awe of their colonial master. Yet they like to keep telling us they are the defenders of our democracy.

  18. The Yellow Media are beholden to the U.S.It is the Propaganda Machine of Aquino and his cahoots…It was the U.S., who installed the Aquinos into power. Then , they branded it the : “People’s Power”…they even put a shrine and a holiday, on that stupid event.

Then, the Aquinos claimed heroism and sainthood, because of the so called: “people’s power”…they put their faces in our currency. They named airports, buildings, roads, etc…for themselves…they put monuments for themselves…and these were sold to the gullible Filipinos, thru the Aquino propaganda machine !

The U.S. is no longer respected in many parts of the world. It is because of their works in: Lybia, Syria; the creation of the ISIS Caliphate; Afghanistan,…etc…they have also problems with North Korea, Yemen, Nigeria, etc…

The U.S. is in trillion U.S. dollars in debt to China and other countries.

The attack of Islamic terrorists in their Embassy in Benghazi, Lybia was a disaster.

The YellowTards have the “slave” mentalities. If they are required to ass wipe the Americans…they will do it , wholeheartedly !

    1. The usa is not respected in the same countries they have never been respected….period.
      Nothing new.
Why do u make so much stuff up?

  19. i think america want to set up a military rule to avoid bloodbath but the aquino’s steal it through people power. it’s cory who throw away america after edsa1 by not renewing its lease on bases. america can’t do anything but to leave ‘cuz of the yellow hypnotized people power being used rallying ‘get out america’. still we’re very thankful america introduce and learned us english in our curriculum or else who we gonna be today. hacienda luista is the core of all this mess up of the Motherland.

  20. Leni Robredo has pounced on the Mary Jane Veloso issue. Here is her statement “expressing concern”.

    https://twitter.com/AicaDioquino/status/775283489277026305

Notice there is nothing in her statement that talks about respecting Indonesia’s laws, or abiding by the Indonesian judiciary’s final decision on Veloso’s fate.

This suggests Robredo’s camp is laying the groundwork to pin the blame on President Duterte if Veloso’s execution pushes through. Never mind that President Duterte does not even have the power to dictate on the Indonesian government what to do with Veloso.

The timing and nature of Robredo’s statement are suspicious. If all she really wanted was clarification on the Veloso matter, couldn’t she have simply made a phone call to DFA Sec. Yasay or the President’s assistant Bong Go? Why did she have to send a public statement to the media? Besides, the DFA already issued a clarification hours before her statement was released.

Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Was the misquoting of Duterte and Widodo re Veloso staged by the anti-Duterte forces using their Jakarta media contacts?

The possibility is not too far-fetched. There is one major oligarch and one veteran yellow journalist with strong ties in Jakarta.
