August 26 One Million People March… Only The Beginning, I Hope

I’m writing this in a rush and will be headed out to cover the August 26 Million People March in a few minutes.

While I’ve read so many articles on what people say it is or will be, I am still trying to resist any attempt to frame it in any way.  As of now, the only way I can describe it is a collective physical expression of outrage over a number of issues — only one of which is Pork Barrel Corruption.

I think the biggest scapegoat that people are trying to banish is the government that they created by their misguided actions and the passive participation with anything with a cute slogan.

What the gathering really outlines is the fact that most Filipinos haven’t understood this one simple idea: You get the government that you deserve.

It seems the only time that people participate in democratic governance is when (1) there is an election and (2) when there is a scandal.

Of course, I really don’t need to be at Luneta to see this event because TV networks are going to cover this and most people can probably watch the whole thing unfold in the comfort  (as well as safety) of their own homes.

But then again, nothing beats seeing things “live” and unframed by the television.

(Note: I’ll will be on Twitter  throughout the whole thing, so follow me if you want to.)

  1. well, I hope more people, like me, will go to Luneta not because of inggit because of the way the Napoles’ live. I go to Luneta because I am so mad that the taxes that I had been paying and continue to pay is not going to where it is supposed to be going.

    I go to Luneta because I want government people to spend the taxes I pay for service to the poor and not put it in the pockets of the privilege few.

    I go to Luneta because I want corruption to end. I want good government and more.

      Halina, Huwag Na Kayong Magpatukso Sa Karahasan
      Gantihan Ninyo Ng Pag-ibig Ang Kasamaan
      Oktubre 24, 1991

      sabihin mo sa kanilang Ako ito, si Hesus; kapag tatanungin nila kung ano
      ang Aking Mensahe para sa kanila, sabihin mo sa kanilang:

      -Ako ay naparito upang papagkasunduin kayo sa Aking Banal na Puso-
      at sa pakikipagsundo ninyo sa Akin, nang dahil sa Aking dakilang Pag-ibig ay
      hihilingin Ko sa inyong magkasundu-sundo kayo sa isa’t-isa;
      hinahangad Kong papag-kasunduin ang buong mundo sa Aking Banal na Puso
      upang makagawa Ako ng bagong sangnilikha mula sa inyong lahat;¹
      ito ang pangako ng Aking Espiritu;

      sinasabi Ko sa inyo nang buong katapatan, ang sinumang nagtatanim
      ng binhi ng pagpapasasa ay aani ng katiwalian at kapag haharap na siya
      sa Akin sa Araw ng Paghuhukom ay sasabihin Ko sa kanyang:

      “lumayas ka! lumayo ka sa Akin!
      doon ka sumama sa Masamang nagpabulok sa iyo!”

      hangga’t hindi Ako nakaririnig ng isang iyak ng pagsisisi
      ang alingasaw ng kamatayang humahantong sa kamatayan ay patuloy
      na aangat patungo sa langit, ayaw Ko na ng ganito,

      ang hinahangad Ko mula sa inyo ay:
      -insenso-
      nais Ko kayong maging katulad ng isang mangkok na punung-punong insensong nakapatong sa isang altar, minamahal Kong mga anak,
      hayaan ninyong ang inyong bansa’y maging isang malaking Altar
      na nag-aalay sa Akin ng halimuyak ng insenso;
      nais Ko kayong mamuhay nang banal sapagka’t Ako ay Banal;

      bawa’t araw ay iniaabot Ko ang Aking mga Kamay sa inyo upang iangat kayo sa Akin;
      naipadama Ko na ang Aking Pag-ibig para sa inyo sa nagdaang mga panahon at ngayo’y muli Akong naparito upang iligtas kayo mula sa Ulupong,
      katulad ng isang pastol na sumasagip sa kanyang mga tupa
      mula sa bunganga ng leon; hindi ko kayo parurusahan tulad ng pagpaparusa Ko
      sa Sodom at Gomorrah, sa kabila ng inyong karumal-dumal na pagkahamak,
      nababatid Ko kung papaano naaapi ang inyong mga mahihirap
      at kung papaano niyuyurakan araw-araw ang mga dukha;
      nababatid Ko rin kung gaano kayo kalungkot at oh! nababatid Ko
      ang inyong mga krimen … at ang mga ito’y napakarami, dahil sa karahasang nangyayari sa inyong mga anak ang dugo ng mga inosenteng
      dumadanak sa inyong bansa ay napakarami!

      hinahamon ang Aking Awa ng inyong mga kasawiang dulot ng mga kasalanan
      at alang-alang sa kadakilaan ng Aking Pag-ibig ay tinitipon Ko ang inyong mga mamamayan ngayon; ipatawag ninyo ang lahat sa ilalim ng Banal na Ngalan Ko at sabihin ninyo sa kanilang hindi Ko nililitis ang sinuman, at hindi Ako naparito upang bantaan kayo; sabihin ninyo sa inyong mga mamamayang ibubuhos Ko ang Aking Espiritu ng Pag-ibig sa kanila; tatalukbungan Ko ang inyong bayan tulad ng isang belo mula sa itaas at tulad ng hamog ay babalutan kayo ng Aking Espiritu ng Pag-ibig, at ito ay tatagos kahit na sa mga bisagra ng inyong mga pinto at bintana;

      ang inyong mga mamamayan ay hindi mabibigo sa Aking Pagdalaw; sa pamamagitan ng Aking Apoy na Nakapagpapadalisay ay lalaminin Ko ang kabulukan
      at tulad ng isang manggagapas ay gagapasin Ko itong ani ng kasamaan sa pamamagitan ng Aking Karit, bubungkusin Ko ito at ihahagis sa apoy upang masunog at kapalit nito ay tatamnan Ko ito ng mga binhi mula sa Langit: mga binhi ng Pag-ibig;

      ito ang inyong Panginoong nakikipag-usap sa inyo, Ito an Siyang nagmamahal sa inyo sa pamamagitan ng isang Pag-ibig na hindi mauunawaan ninuman;
      Ako ito, si Hesus, ang inyong Tagapagligtas,
      na nasa inyong mga pinto ngayon; at muli Kong sinasabi sa inyong: halina! magsilapit kayo sa Akin, kayong mga inaapi, at kayo’y pagiginhawahin at aaliwin Ko, halina! halina’t tanggapin ninyo ang lahat ng mga Kayamanan ng Aking Banal na Puso;

      ang Kaharian ng Diyos² ay nasa inyo na, ang tanging gagawin lamang ninyo ay pumasok dito; ang Aking Tahanan ay inyo ring tahanan; ibinukas Ko na ang pnto ng Aking Kaharian para sa lahat; halina, huwag na kayong magpatukso sa karahasan, gantihan ninyo ng pag-ibig ang kasamaan-
      magpatawad kayo!
      paano pa kayo patatawarin ng Ama kung ayaw ninyong magpatawad? kumain kayo mula sa Aking bunga at hindi mula sa bunga ng Aking kaaway, sapagka’t ang mga anak ng kadiliman ay masamang makitungo kahit sa sarili nilang kauri dahil ang Kasamaan ang kanilang panginoon na siyang nagtuturo sa kanilang tularan siya

      at ang taong madaya sa maliliit na mga bagay ay lalong madaya sa malalaking mga bagay; tipunin ninyo ang inyong mga kaibigan at manalangin kayo, at pakikinggan Ko ang inyong panalangin:
      -ang bawat makasalanang nagsisisi at maririnig-
      -sa Langit-
      Ako, si Jesus, ay binabasbasan kayong lahat habang iniiwan Ko ang Aking Buntong-hininga ng Pag-ibig sa inyong mga noo;
      (Isang ukit ng “Ichthys” na Griyegong salita para sa “isda.” Ito’y nangangahulugang “Jesu Christo, God’s Son, the Saviour [Anak ng Diyos, Tagapagligtas]”.)

      1. Matagal na pong patay si Jesus of Nazareth. Nangyari ito hindi dahil sa kanya kundi ang mga mamamayang taxpayers ay nabahala na. Kung talagang meron kapangyarihan ang isang patay na tao, he could have prevented it from happening. Huwag na tayong kumuha ng tulong sa mga nilalang na matagal ng patay o sa mga supernatural being na hanggang ngayon ay ayaw magpakilala ng personal at kung hindi ka naman naniwala daw sa kanila ay nagtatantrums. Kung ikaw ay merong sakit doon ka nagpapagamot sa isang doctor na buhay at merong PTC hindi sa isang nilalang na nagmimilagro kuno at matagal ng patay.

    2. The main issue is the governments self-protection, self-serving laws, I hope that gets addressed, “Laws need to be changed”, their protected all the way from viewing their dollar accounts to the yearly tax statements the red tape, is way beyond silly if someone wants to investigate how much a politician, police or general makes they’re blocked, another problem that can’t be solved unless the Philippine citizen blocks the poor from registering to vote and then vote for the politician that pays them to do so, why else would people stand in the heat squashed to do this? For change, goofy political rallies… Their getting paid 500 peso’s to register and then 500 peso’s to vote, wow…nutz, no outcry from citizens, these poor down and out keep doing it because they have no hope for change and the money is so fast, there should be some sort of intimidation towards these constant paid voters, they’re hurting everyone and need a good talking to, make light of selling their souls for such a little amount and never any change.

      1. @McAl, they are so poor they need the peso’s! The people who need the intimidation are the people who are doing the stealing. I’d say they need a bit more than intimidation at this point. I mean, c’mon, it is estimated that over half the GDP of the country is lost due to corruption and flat-out thievery. Its over $40 billion/year and its been going on for decades. I am surprised they all just do not surround the Palace and Parliament bldgs. and drag ’em all out and flog every last one of them. In a kinda breath deprivation type way.

    1. It would not be possible without uncritical fanboys like you, who enable the wholesale corruption of this government that’s pissed everyone off in the first place.

        1. “I am against corruption. I support it by supporting PNoy and his team.”

          Ironic that you say that since it has already been stated countless times that corruption has worsened under your president’s term and it will get worse until your president’s pork barrel is scrapped like you.

        2. You’re against corruption? Nah, you’re nothing but a GIRLY MAN who always whine about getting rid of a corrupt politician w/o full understanding of the lengths of the corruption.

          One more thing: Corruption isn’t the cause. It’s the effect of how the people and the politicians interact with the government that doesn’t work!

        3. fuck you isa ka ring abnoy na tulad ng iyong presidente sna tamaan ka ng kidlat… sampu ng iyong presidente, senatong at tongresman buang …

        4. Gogs,

          Looks like siomai is already getting frustrated since his propaganda isn’t working here.

    2. I suggest that you check the news, nimrod.
      The people are already swarming all over luneta park and it’s very obvious that they have come there without your president’s influence.
      Its true that your fellow noytards have infiltrated it but this time, they are the minority in the rally.

        1. The numbers may not be greater than 100k but it is already counted as a WARNING against your president.

          Your propaganda is weak, DEAL WITH IT

        2. You seem to underestimate the power of the people, that is a fatal mistake that you and the president will regret.

        3. @siomai

          Your brain is fried yellow. Don’t you know that this is just the start of it? Luneta is not the only venue. There are other venues in the provinces, in Hong Kong and even the US of A! You are really stupid. Estimates in Luneta alone reached 75,000 people as of press time.

        4. Meh. EDSA only has 2 million people and it was only in MANILA. Nothing from other parts of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao didn’t take part of it.

          LAWL YOU DUMBASS! 😀

        5. I wouldn’t underestimate the rage against pork barrel and against your president’s pork if I were you since it is possible that it will snowball into a call for your president to resign which is already happening.

          YOU MAD?

    3. Si abNoy ang may kasalanan kaya tuloy ang pork barrel sa pinas. Kunwari lang na sinsusuportahan niya pag-abolish nito. He is just afraid because this pork barrel practice is getting too scandalous.

  2. I agree with you that the people deserve the government they get. But this is true only when the electorate is mature and literate enough to understand the real issues of governance. In the Philippines, where 70% of the people live in poverty, the voters are easily swayed by the hollow promises of the policiticans during election time, not to mention all forms of vote buying schemes offered to them. Votes are mostly based on the popularity of the candidate and not on integrity and the candidate’s capability to deliver results. Thus, most of these policticans, once voted to their positions, become prone to corruption due to the huge amount of PDAF available to them and the built-in systematic process for kickbacks. In the end, the only cemocratic recourse the people have is to voice out their indignation to any misgovernance that happens. Whether this will result to beneficial changes in government remain to be seen. However, this is no excuse not to persevere until we get the GOVERNMENT WE DESERVE.

    1. I don’t think it’s about maturity and literacy per se and your own post even attest to that. It’s more on economics or lack of it. Poor people can be easily manipulated. Their decision making power is subject to open bidding. The cry of the hungry stomach is stronger than the cry for wisdom in times of need.

      I don’t buy those comments about voting intelligently and that people should be matured enough, literate enough to comprehend the consequence of their voting rights, etc. In essence, that’s the idea but in reality, there’s more to it than that.

        1. I don’t think “educating” the less fortunate will do the trick. In fact, it’s the reverse, we should educate the educated ones because they are the ones who gets elected. They’re the ones who dole
          out the moolahs.

  3. I go so that it might kick start noynoying aquino into listening, thinking, working and doing.

    He is in last chance saloon, hence the panic announcement but he has already lost credibility and trust.

    Only his idiotic one-line trolls are left, and they make him seem even more pathetic.

    Tick tock

  4. I don’t think going to Luneta will stop or end corruption. Not even a march by millions of people. Nothing can ever stop corruption but it can be minimized or controlled to a certain extent. It can be reduced from the level of ‘business as usual’ to ‘risky business’. I can suggest lots of ideas, which has already been said by others years and years ago, to solve/contain corruption but I would just summarize it for space saving purposes. A determined people and a no-nonsense leadership will be able to confront the corruption issue and finally get a hold of it.

    Is the present leadership capable of doing that? I doubt. However, I’m hoping in the years to come people will finally realize that they are one of the components that makes the existence of gov’t. corruption possible.

    1. ” Is the present leadership
      capable of doing that? ”

      This is an insult to the chief executive. 3 high government officials have been removed and you say he is not capable?

      1. @siomai

        So many years have passed and we still do not have effective flood control. That is just only one issue. What about the many other issues? How much is BS Aquino paying you yellow brains? Butt hurt?

        1. And guess who’s the smartass who decided to cancel the previous admin’s flood control projects. Of course, no one else but your president. That idiot must be trembling now in his palace.

      2. @siomai….next on the agenda will be those life preserver laws that protect government employee’s only, what about the bull headedness of the branches of government they don’t work together so good. Multi SUV brand spanking new parties up and down all major hwy’s who’s owns those, who in government could afford such luxury, shouldn’t be one of them the most any government official could afford is one brand new SUV, apparently they have dozens, that’s not gonna fly well with the poor.

      3. I did not say the present leadership is not capable but I don’t mind if you misinterpret it just the same. So what if ‘3 high gov’t. officials were removed’? Did corruption go away? Was it eradicated because of that?

        Three years is a short time to see result against corruption but I expect people either facing charges or going to jail and serving time by now.

        One thing I’m sure of, corruption will not be resolved under the present leadership and if you think that’s an insult to the chief executive, savor it.

    2. ” Is the present leadership capable of doing that? ”.

      The present leadership can’t even hire literate trolls. Oh sorry Siomai/ Vicente/ fishball / sendong.

  5. The gathering/scandal has already achieved a modicum of success by creating a heightened sense of awareness, education, and a more circumspect view of politics which hopefully might translate into more personal responsibility over time, and contribute to a positive change in electoral apathy. Only time will tell.

    People at the rally/march are angry at pnoy aquino for his inaction and hypocricy. His sudden about turn on pdaf is fooling no-one.

  6. Ironic korina ‘miss piggy’ sanchez here. (No mask required)
    “Any comment on mar roxas increase in 2014 pork barrel, korina”
    “Oink,oink”

  7. Pnoy aquino trying to piggy back on the peoples initiative ideally demonstrates the weakness and opportunism of a ‘leader’ who is only used to being in the rear, and licking ass.
    Now his ass is being kicked.
    A pathetic attempt by a pathetic individual.

  8. Renato Corona has the guts to go there. Siya nga ay guilty sa corruption (non declaration of wealth) tapos against siya sa pork barrel? Tama lang na i-boo siya.

    1. He was booed by nimrods like you.
      Obviously may mga nakapasok na noytards sa rally.

      Your lack of logic is making you a joke.

    2. Ginamit ni abNoy “BS” Aquino ang pork barrel, at lubusang nakinabang siya dito, para lang ma-railroad yun impeachment ni Corona.

      1. Exactly! I’d like to believe that PeNoy doesn’t have much ambition, he doesn’t really like money that much. I think its safe to say that he wants to take it easy, no heavy responsibility, pa-shooting-shooting, tagay with the barkadas, play station with pamangkins – that’s why he’s still a bachelor at his age. Its the Kamag-Anak Inc who spotted the opportunity last presidential election and he has an obligation to fulfill.

      1. No guts, no brains, and no hair. So again we ask:

        What in the world are his redeeming qualities??

        Oh, I almost forgot, he had the last name, and his propaganda machine was successful in making others look worse than he was.

    1. “Lol! And the attendance is not greater than 100K. Is that what you call people? ”

      So, what’s your point? Are you actually hoping that more people are going to join the rally AGAINST your president? The numbers may not be greater than 100k but it is already counted as a WARNING against your president.

      By the way, did you and your bobo president forget your brains at home again?

      1. That no one gives a damn about the rally. Mahina kasi ang opposition e, magaling kasi ang ating pangulo sa kanyang pamamahala kaya wala masyadong kumokontra.

        1. Meanwhile in other news:

          PRESIDENT AQUINO ALARMED, CATHOLIC GROUPS ASKING AQUINO TO RESIGN “ON AIR”

          Taken from facebook feed

        2. Look around luneta and see the thousands of people. Do you see them not giving a damn about the rally?

          Your one liner has failed you again.

        3. Bravo for your sheer idiocy and ignorance. Sorry if I’m not drinking the yellow kool-aide like you do.

          I know you won’t reply because what I’ve said is totally TRUE. 😀

        4. di kasi matanggap tanggap ng siopao na ito na first time nag aklas ang mga tao against sa abnoy nyang presidente umabot agad ng 100K kla nya 10K lng cge siopao lokohin mo pa sarili mo o magpaloko kpa jan sa presidente mo sa ssusunod na aklas nyan pati ikaw pupulutin kna sa imburnal…

    2. Naaah.. As the name suggest his just another retarded pinoy. They compose the majority of the failippine population, your bound to encounter one sooner so there he is. You know, the stereotype pinoys – proud and retarded.

      1. HAHA, your description of siomai is spot on. It’s true that the majority of the country’s population is as stupid as siomai is but the smart minority is already growing in numbers.

  9. If I were you I wouldn’t put my hopes too high (I personally don’t believe it). Possible outcome 1)Give pork barrel a new name and pop a stupid news (aannounce lang ng ABS na nabuntis si mariang makiling ni juan mario ala na yang PDAF issue na yan) 2)Martial law

      1. Meanwhile in other news:

      2. You’re overrating martial law again. That is a time where society is disciplined despite of the authorities.

        Years later, innocents were murdered in Mendiola in 1987. And I’m sure you’re happy about it, right? 😀

      3. Do you think PeNoy & those who has “utang na loob” will allow the 26yrs+ Aquino legacy down the drain? A martial law can be easily justified in the future history of the Failippines – a guaranteed business to EyBeeEs and wave a lot of cash to the historians.

      4. I agree not because he and his family was a victim of martial law but because it is really impossible at the present circumstances to even entertain the idea of martial law. Noynoy is no Marcos in terms of wisdom and cunning and military connection. He will be devoured by martial law if ever he plays with it.

  10. “What the gathering really outlines is the fact that most Filipinos haven’t understood this one simple idea: You get the government that you deserve.

    It seems the only time that people participate in democratic governance is when (1) there is an election and (2) when there is a scandal.”

    Can you really expect people to be on monitor 24/7? If the people deserve the government they get because they do not monitor, then how about other nations that have equally or even less democratically active citizens but with better government?

    Or do you mean “because our government is elected through popular vote that already makes us deserving of them”? If so, then I’d like to ask, is the person’s incompetency in making decisions the person’s fault?

    1. Exactly. Pinoy voted for thieves, thieves they got. And when shit happens, pinoy whine/complain and expects thieves to change. That’s not gonna happen. Juan is so retarded that he actually believe that if he plants mango tree w. enough prayer and hope it will bear an apple. You see, the defective system is only the result of Juans defective brain.

      1. do not generalize when you shame politicians, put his or her name here instead. are you referring to the thief gloria arroyo who won again in pampanga?

        1. “do not generalize when you shame politicians, put his or her name here instead. are you referring to the thief gloria arroyo who won again in pampanga?”

          Penoy is very disappointing!

          KItang-kita ang ebidensya—Penoy is corrupt to the bone!

          PATALSIKIN SI PENOY!—Walang silbi!

      2. You do realize that I’m questioning that rationale? We are responsible for our votes but does that mean that we “deserve” it? I don’t think so. Just because someone is an idiot doesn’t mean that that person deserves a beating.

    2. IASK – “What the gathering really outlines is the fact that most Filipinos haven’t understood this one simple idea: You get the government that you deserve.

      I often hear that ‘you get the gov’t. you deserve’ cliché and I wonder is it really true that Filipinos don’t understand it? I don’t think so.

      They know that they get the gov’t. they deserve. They know gov’t. corruption remains unabated. They know that bidding wars happens during election period. They’re not the deer-in-the-headlight kind of people. They know everything and they know they deserve the gov’t. that the system provides for them. It’s a cycle and everybody knew it.

      Bottom line, people in office and those who put them there deserved each other under the system that support it. It is only when the people in public office, the elected ones, begin to realize that the people do not deserve the kind of treatment they’re getting from them that the relationship will change for the better.

      It is only when the realization dawn on them that the interest of the country/people is paramount than their personal gain that such arrangement will ensure future benefits for the next generation to come.

      1. Maybe what we need is an intelligent congress. Intelligence correlates with being able to look at one’s self broadly and more abstractly, rather than focusing on things in a tangible, personal level and focusing on personal interest. I have no idea how to achieve this though. Pork-barrel? I’m not even sure if it truly is possible to remove the PDAF. Still glad I joined the rally though.

        1. Maybe a conscientious and God-fearing people in gov’t. and a determined and principled populace would make a difference.

          It’s really sad that the country that has a strong religious (Catholic) institution who oftentimes dip it’s fingers into politics doesn’t seem to have a traction nor influence on how to combat corruption. Worse, they too, in numerous occasions gets to be linked on corruption cases. So sad.

        1. Papano nga may mag-impeach e nabili na nya ng pork barrel yung congress at senate?

          Pati nga mga masa e, nabili na rin niya ng CCT.

        2. Really? Where? List down his assets please. Bank accounts, cars, real estate, firearms, vehicles. The same what they did to Corona.

        4. Impeach PeNoy? On what grounds? Incompetency? Sorry there is no law for that. His assets? Have you heard of Kamag-Anak Inc? Danding, Peping, Eduardo + Lopezez Who said the money he has have to be illegal? Its very easy to legalize it. Stock options, payroll, donations, blahlahblahblah.

        5. C’mon, let your precious president publish all his assets if you insist that he is not corrupt. If he is too much of a chicken to do it then it only means that he’s way way way worse than the people that he hates so much.
          Your propaganda can’t save you and your president this time.
          Your president’s time is ticking.

        6. @siomai: As expected from the biggest fool, he lost his temper since he can’t admit that his precious president is a fraud. 😀

      1. Wouldn’t be surprised if siomai turns out to gay for Mr.Aquino since he loves his dear president so much that he’s willing to jump off a cliff for him.

  11. Hi all! I just came home from the “million” people march and I think people who did the headcount actually counted the same people more than once.

    Whoever came up with the idea of tagging the thing as “million” people march ought to be shot in the head and buried in the middle of field in front of Quirino grandstand.

    It was a whole lot of nothing, except for the short part where Jograd Dela Torre (if anyone remembers who he is) sang a rather catchy tune.

    I left when Jim Paredes came up on stage and sang something — rather feebly, like he was sick or something.

    Then there was the rather feeble and contrived chanting of “Makibaka huwag magbaboy”… cute, really, but just that… cute. Conyotic cute.

    I’ll reserve my zings for my post tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

    1. I was there for “Jograd” and the intro made him sound like he was Robert Urich. As in so many shows over the years. I had no idea who he was. Too bad I missed you PF.

    2. I was briefly at the protest in Baguio early this afternoon; all was relatively lucid, until the radical Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) group came and unfurled multicolored flags under the guise of “LGBT inclusiveness.”

      Good thing the organizers weren’t buying it; the lead organizer told the flag bearers to pack their sh*t and leave.

    3. based on what you said, only 30k people joined the event. if yellow attire was worn, the numbers could have been different. and pork will easily be abolished. well it is over now.

      1. Uy, aminin, napaihi kayo nang dilaw sa mga pantalon niyo ni President Bobo dahil di niyo naitigil ung rally kanina.

      2. So what you are trying to say the “yellow” stain supports pork barrel? Since they didn’t attend the rally? I couldn’t care less though, the outcome is the same – pork barrel stay with new name and pinoys remains retarded.

      3. TROLL. 😀

        And do you think wearing ‘yellow’ will make any difference? We’re not talking about TRADEMARKS here.

        And FYI, 300,000 are in attendance. Stop your worthless Yellow Propaganda once and do something in your own life. 😛

      4. The huge numbers of people against the pork barrel is going to change into people against your precious president if he can’t abolish his own pork barrel.
        By the way, if you were a supporter of corona’s impeachment trial then it also means that you are in favor of pork barrel since it was used to impeach corona.

  12. @siomai: one word BOBO
    you are a blinded yellow zombie, and i pity you for that. no wonder, this country is not progressing. you are easily fooled.. god bless the philippines

  13. Please let me know when the one million BIKINI march is set for. All this other stuff is a waste of time. Filipinos are too complacent to do S H I T about anything here. This is a Country that has no clue what democracy is and really needs to be under control of a firm leader which it hasn’t had since Marcos

  14. Guys, siomai must be “bida kapamilya”/”eduardo”/any other iteration of blind PNoy fanaticism. I thought he got wiped from GRP’s visitor record.

    1. Since he’s a professional paid hack, he will continue his job as a long as Malacanang pays him.

      He won’t admit because that is 100% true.

      1. Dogs also come in many different ranges of intelligence from smart to being downright retarded which in this case,siomai is the latter. He thinks he’s a big attack dog but in reality he’s a retarded yellow chihuahua with no fangs.

  15. Some of the opportunist politicians, like Aquino, will jump on the million march bandwagon. Identify themselves with the marchers, and claim it as their own. The best solution is to eliminate Aquino’s Pork Barrel. And his power to allocate these Pork Barrel to politicians. It is used as a source of large scale corruption.

  16. He said that he’s going to abolish pork barrel. In fact, he’s going to give money only to his cohorts. I’m sure the opposition members will either receive a little or nothing at all.

  17. Well Mr. Farol, you have a winner of an article, Congrats!
    u kno, the people could make all of the thievery stop, dead in its trax, very easily. Unlike in the west where soldiers and cops are well paid, in the RP they will not kill their fellow countrymen for a paltry P15K/month. All that would be necessary is the march to be taken to 2, maybe 3, different locations with a little different intentions and …VILOA! its Game over!

    1. Police, lol… 70% of the citizens can’t afford their protection, if you don’t have money you don’t solve your case, so what’s the purpose of having a police force? Have you seen the police stop anyone for speeding, driving reckless, its revenue but they don’t even get out of their huts or buildings, they speed with lights flashing to meet for lunch or? They also are deep in the wetting gambling games, same with the military, whats the purpose the military they shouldn’t be in Manila but Mindanao what are they doing in Manila? See all these government workers live in Manila they won’t live anywhere else.

  18. Okay. President BS yesterday said “again” he will prosecute or “persecute” those who are guilty. I saw on TV more than a week ago he has already 3 names he will file charges to the PDF scam. So nasaan na? Mahigit 1 linggo na yun. Is this how determined and sincere he is in making these people pay? HAHA… No wonder he says he cannot see a conviction under his term… baka nga ni walang ma umpisahan during his term… if ever pa!
