WD-40 Is Made Out of Fish Oil

And Other Stupid Things People Will Believe Because Its Retweeted or Reposted on Facebook

Remember a while back, Tim Yap mistakenly tweeted that some reporter had won the biggest Lotto prize?  A lot of people re-tweeted it and believed it because they thought that Yap was a credible journalist.

TV host and active Twitterer Tim Yap has apologized for wrongly claiming that Philippine Daily Inquirer reporter Miko Morelos won the P741 million jackpot prize of the 6/55 Grand Lotto. Yap Tweeted: “It was an honest mistake. My apologies if any of you were offended by the mistweet, although I clarified it in my next tweets that Mr. Morelos wasn’t the winner but the reporter who covered the lotto proceedings. I tweeted those messages without any malice or ill intentions. I have already spoken to Mr. Morelos and personally apologized to him.”

His apology for being inaccurate MISSED THE POINT by a whole mile! The identity of a Lotto winner should never be revealed because of the probably harm that may happen to them.

Three years after Yap’s embarrassingly thoughtless tweet, we have yet another instance where thousands of people believed something just because it was tweeted by a supposedly “credible” person.

Carlos Celdran, cultural activist and ambassador of freedom, said through Twitter and Facebook on March 18, 2013:

SM will try to convince Olivier Ochanine of the PPO on Wednesday that they are committed to building a “state of the art venue” at the Philamlife Hall. CONFIRMED. They are tearing down Philamlife. And of course you know “State of the Art” means CHEAP, UGLY, BADUY architecture in place of a half century old classic. Seriously. FUCK you, Sy Family. FUCK YOU. #FuckYouOfTheDay

carlos celdran says fuck you henry sy

As it turned out, SMDC had not finalized any plans for the Philamlife Building or the Philamlife Theater.   This makes Celdran’s rant unfair, baseless, and speculative.

How could Celdran at all say that “State of the Art means CHEAP, UGLY, BADUY architecture” when no architectural plans had been finalized?  It seemed he was critiquing something that existed ONLY IN HIS MIND.

Fuck You SM Carlos Celdran

Does this look like a person you can engage in a dialogue? I don’t think so.

What made this worse was his use of libelous profanity against the entire Sy family!

This is just plain wrong on so many respects, not the least of which is that Celdran’s use of profanity cut the route towards FREE and OPEN dialogue  — something that could have helped immensely in convincing the Sys to preserve the Philamlife Building, IF THAT WAS CELDRAN’S OBJECTIVE.

Can you imagine, if instead of engaging in “shocktivisim”, Celdran sought the more sober and dignified route?  Perhaps this could have convinced the Sys about the architectural and cultural value of the entire building.  After all, the Sys are shrewd business people and if there IS value in something, it would be against their interests to destroy it.

Of course, all that is speculation at this point and we will NEVER know what could have happened — all thanks to Celdran’s drama.

As it now turns out, it seems that ONLY the Philamlife theater will be saved instead of the entire building and this is largely credited to Olivier Ochanine — NOT CELDRAN.

Music lovers can rest easy after residential property developer SM Development Corp. (SMDC) said it would “save and preserve” the “culturally historic” Philamlife Theater in Manila following pleas from heritage conservation advocates.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the firm led by tycoon Henry Sy vowed to preserve “the complete theater, including all its elements and most especially its acoustics” in close consultation with the country’s music, acoustics and design experts.

The commitment was made following a dialogue between SMDC vice chair and chief executive officer Henry Sy Jr. and Olivier Ochanine, music director and chief conductor of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.

  1. I’m a WD-40 user and I don’t beleive it is made out of fish oil, if so then I would be taking it as a dietary supplement. Ha ha.

In this day and age of technology being within arms length of everybody, this age where you can say anything for the world to see even the most trivial thing like, what you are eating where now, you are depressed now, it’s really easy to believe anything. Filipinos wouldn’t now how to filter tons of information provided by these technology, that is why we have a joke of a president and a..holes for senators and jerks for congressmen.

  2. Wonder how Carlos Celdran would react if someone started a Twitter campaign announcing HIS demise? Or possibly his disappearance perpetrated by shadowy business tycoons who do not appreciate his irresponsible rabble rousing 😉

    Of Liars and Haters
by Atanacio Salvador (Notes) on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 10:12am

My Facebook activity has been limited to occasional forayson certain issues, rarely do I go online. But in the past couple of weeks Ihave been active on Facebook because of my posting of my views on CarlosCeldran’s “F*ck You” series of posts, comments and photos against magnate HenrySy, his family and their property development corporation and the resultingreactions to these. Many have posted about SMDC’s purchase and possibledevelopment plans and the effects on the Philamlife building and specificallytheater in Manila, but nothing as vile as what Celdran was doing. So vile that it turned off manywho were supposed to be on the same side as Celdran (like me).

And we said so in our posts.

The result: he turned against those who opposed him, personallyand with much hatred, as much if not more than his hate for the Sys.

One of those he went after was blogger Paul Farol. WhileFarol, like the rest of us, were pointing out Celdran’s folly in a very factualmanner – you can’t make it up, the posts and photos are there, screen capturedand posted many by Celdran himself – Celdran started making up fake Paul Farolpages on facebook, posting his profile picture with titles like “I have a smalldick” or “I am a hungry paid hack” etc etc. As of last count some 10 pages werecreated, all derogatory, all lies.

But Celdran’s efforts backfired. People are not stupid. Theysaw the difference between Paul’s criticism’s and Celdran’s slander. The morehe did that, the more he proved that he was unstable and he was just lashingout at everybody who he perceived was against him. Paranoid?

Then I was informed about Celdran’s antics triggering somesurveillance by police authorities, specifically by the Philippine DrugEnforcement Agency (PDEA). It was specifically Celdran’s post demanding he begiven “a line” that aroused their curiosity. I was informed that he was now aperson of interest, and his internet activities and his residence in SyquiaApartments were being closely monitored. I wrote about it, partly because Iknew some people who lived there who – in police parlance – “fit the profile.”

I tagged a number of people in that post, people who I feltshould know about the PDEA surveillance, the thinking behind it and perhaps toget their Syquia friends to know about it. Some asked to be taken off, which isfine. One of them is Atty Trixie Cruz: lawyer, PR practitioner and internetdenizen.

Her I tagged specifically because her name turned up in acouple of intel I received, so I thought I was doing her a favor by letting herknow about it. But I didn’t say anything else. To my surprise, Atty Cruz postedon Facebook defending Carlos Celdran and warning Paul Farol of legal action forwhat he was doing. Of course, when I asked her if what Celdran did to the Syswas subject to the same legal action she warned Paul about she – in lawyerlyfashion – just turned it around and said she wasn’t defending Celdran and shewas merely cautioning Paul.

But in less than 24 hours a series of events followed: AttyCruz again posted, this time against Paul as a so-called hater and a troll andthose who engages in dirty PR online. Then, as if on cue, they all came out of the woordwork: ReynaElena, James Aron Magnun and Orion Perez Dumdum, all coming out swingingagainst Paul Farol.

And the funniest thing is that they insisted I was PaulFarol. Dumdum in particular – whose claim to fame is that he is a leader of acharter change movement – kept sending me messages directly, calling me PaulFarol and launching a whole slew of personal attacks against Paul.

Like I care… I’m not Paul so this Dumdum can say all hewants and it won’t affect me. It wassimply so funny. In one comment he even said that proof that I was Paul wasthat I was posting comments in all lower case letters. He said that’s for Paulto hide his identity. Hello? Since when was that viable proof? When I’m usingone of my gadgets I don’t use the shift key because it’s too tedious to do withone hand. But Dumdum insists, and claims he has the technological wizardry toknow what I’m doing and with what gadget.

You see, this is Dumdum’s style. He takes little bits oftruth here and there and weaves it into the lie that he wants you to believe. And those lies include his intellectual prowess. It’s like the way they puttogether that Tom Hanks flick “Forrest Gump,” only Dumdum has an evil, sinisterand self-serving plot.

O, sige na nga,Dumdum. Maniwala ka sa sarili mong ilusyon.

In other posts they ridiculed my name. How… creative.Magnun’s homophobia even manifested when he said I was a troll and haterbecause I was a drag queen. This prompted Atty Trixie to warn him to becareful. Tsk tsk. Yur slip is showing. Does your dad know what you do afterhours, Mr. Magnun? Or is he too busy giving stock market advice to total strangersthat he doesn’t give you any attention?

You want to ridicule somebody’s name, Mr. Magnun? Try this:Dumdum.

Anyway, in one of his messages Dumdum challenged me to comeout with my profile and pictures. To this I say: NO WAY. It is preciselybecause of you people and your methods that I have not posted my photos orother info.

You see, I am a coward… Unlike the brave Paul Farol, I am soafraid of what you guys do to those whom you target. Just look at what you’vebeen doing to him. In exchange to his opposing your positions on political, economic and moral grounds and issues, you have been launching attacks on hisperson, his physical attributes, his family – yes his wife and even his veryyoung son. Shame on you. You cannot debate and discuss on the basis of facts,so you launch a campaign of name-calling and slander.

Someone disagrees with your position on issues and otherthings and you don’t have the intelligence to debate him, you call him a haterand a troll. Well, who’s the hater now?

You think I am a concoction of Paul Farol? Think again. Allyou have to do is google me… Okay, let me give you a hint. Take a look at thislink: http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1370&dat=20020828&id=5Y8VAAAAIBAJ&sjid=yQoEAAAAIBAJ&pg=2222,3032898

In closing let me say this: I am personally financing thecreation of a site that will expose cyber bullies, haters and trolls, bring alltheir evil ways out in the open, and create a defense infrastructure that willsave and protect those whom they victimize. I will mobilize resources – just asI have successfully done so in the past – to look into each and every act youhave done and bring these to light.

Hmmmmm, I may even hire Paul Farol for this.

    1. Amazing, Paul. You will hire yourself. Cool. That’s a pretty interesting trick. :o)

Haha. Sorry for barging in guys.. I’m bored and it’s actually really fun to see all the effort you put into me. I’m totally flattered. Seriously… You think of me MORE that I even think of me. We should all have drinks together soon.

      More power, guys.

      1. Mr. Celdran. Amazing. Easter is a time for hope stemming from a certain resurrection. You declared GRP dying in a post which you deleted a few hours later. Yet here you are about two months later. Are you truly wishing us well or are you wishing you can finish the job that you can never finish like Wile E. Coyote?

        1. It’s the type of chika common among people in his circle.

He really should stop embarrassing himself and turnover a new leaf.

Yung pa ‘rockstar’ epek only works for 20 somethings, he should leave that to his boys.

  4. I was watching a video on Albert Ellis’ Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and an actor said, “It’s never the events that make us disturbed, but our view of them,” (the premise of REBT). Looks like those thinking SM is lying and will still demolish the theatre are disturbed only by their view of the SM issue, even if events show otherwise.

  5. Don’t give the guy in the dunces hat too much credit. Not only does he not deserve it but it is almost certainly a fact that the clown had little or nothing to do with whatever decision was made by the family to do whatever they saw fit to do.

Giving the family the benefit of the doubt by saying that they “see the benefit in it” is pretty absurd as well. Like any whore, whatever is in their own best, self-serving interest, that is what they will do. It doesn’t matter at all what anyone, especially the idiot in the dunce cap, says on the matter.

  6. Mega mall manic speaks some more hate towards whats right in the Philippines and that’s Carlos Celedran. Don’t you get tired of the stupid campaining and dumb songs at 6am in the morning and then through out the day, no you don’t because your buddies are about to make killing talking smack on TV with no debates what so ever and then it’s on to stealing the money legally, it’s time somebody comes out to speak with his middle finger rigid and stiff at SM and other mega Chinese owned malls they all suck to hell, so do these same chumps that keep winning elections and doing squat along with housing and condo kings all owned by Chinese with a Pinoy as a figure-head to make it all look legal, you can’t be serious, Carlos Celedran for President.

      1. People like Carlos flourish because there is no broadcast debate between candidates, or questions from an audience, so shock media.
