Martial Law Crybabies demonise @MsLeaSalonga because Presidents Cory and BS Aquino failed to jail the Marcoses!

Opposition “influencers” got their panties all twisted up over an old Facebook exchange between national treasure Lea Salonga’s 2016 tweets about her ambivalence to the “horrors” allegedly perpetrated by the late former President Ferdinand Marcos. These “influencers”, mostly blowhards from the woefully-discredited Liberal Party (a.k.a. the Yellowtards) continue to issue shrill whines about how these supposed “horrors” that they now say the entire Marcos family is complicit to should be things that Filipinos should “never forget”.

Evidently, the Yellowtards have never heard of the saying: The best revenge is success.

The fact is, the Marcoses remain a symbol of the failure of the Yellowtards to oversee the transformation of the Philippines into a prosperous and just society. After over thirty years (since the “revolution” of 1986), the Philippines has failed to become what the Yellowtards promised it would be under their watch. Worse, even as the Yellowtards continue tap Filipinos’ superstitious sensibilities to propagate the notion that the Marcoses are “evil”, they also fail to propose an alternative narrative. To be fair, the Yellowtard narrative was once that “alternative”. Indeed, the Yellow mythology and its constellation of Aquino and Marcos-victim “martyrs” persisted for no less than three decades. Sadly, this is no longer the case, and the Yellowtards as an Opposition group have failed to evolve given that confronting reality.

The irony that escapes the Yellowtards is that the more they whine about the Marcoses, the more they highlight their failure. After no less than two Aquino presidencies, not a single case against the Marcoses prospered and not one Marcos is behind bars. Most astounding of all, the murder of Yellowtard “national hero” Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr in 1983 remains unsolved. Neither the late former President Cory Aquino and her son Benigno Simeon ‘BS’ Aquino III seemed to posssess the political wherewithal to bring closure to this case.

If the community of Yellowtards are truly serious about bringing “justice” to the Martial Law “victims”, they should direct their energies towards examining the reason for this epic 30-year failure. But how do the Yellowtards and the broader community of Martial Law Crybabies deal with reality instead? They lash out at easy targets. This they do to the extent of digging up obscure two-year-old Facebook threads, in the case of this latest outrage fad surrounding Salonga, and latching onto the smallest hints of challenge to their sacred Marcos-is-Evil rhetoric. They then quickly slap labels on the offending parties calling them “revisionists” and, here’s an original, “paid propagandists” among others.

To the Yellowtards, it is everyone else’s fault that the Marcoses remain key figures in Philippine politics today — everyone, that is, except Yellowtard “leaders” who were actually in strong positions to do something about all that.

That is not being a real Opposition and not even being a true “social justice warrior”. That’s just being a bunch of pussies. This is why the broader Philippine Opposition should re-evaluate the whole idea of being led by this community of ineffectual wankers. How can you expect to win an election when your leaders are constant reminders of 30 years of astounding failure?

It is time for intelligent people and real leaders to take back the Philippine Opposition from the Yellowtards. The time is now. The next elections are just around the corner.

  1. This post is 2 years ago and still relevant:

30 years, they had all the chance to make the Marcoses accountable, and 30 years they have failed. And now, they want the Junior (Bongbong) Marcos to apologize in lieu of their failure. What a convenient way to cover their miserable failures. Indeed, the most dangerous lies are those that are nearest to the truths.

  2. “It is a soft, forgiving culture. Only in the Philippines could a leader like Ferdinand Marcos, who pillaged his country for over 20 years, still be considered for a national burial. Insignificant amounts of the loot have been recovered, yet his wife and children were allowed to return and engage in politics.”
    – Lee Kuan Yew

What he was saying, I think, is this:

    >> the Marcoses remain a symbol of the failure of Filipinos [fixed that for you] to oversee the transformation of the Philippines into a prosperous and just society.

The fact is, a good fraction of the Filipino population belong in jail. It is absolutely staggering how many people here literally get away with murder (and, more regularly, lesser crimes). Marcos was simply a demonstration of the “a people gets the government it deserves” phenomenon; a society of thieves will inevitably end up being run by a thief. And while Marcos might be dead and gone, the tradition continues on a smaller (but equally devastating) scale.

    1. Just think of this: Marcos is an asshole who keeps other assholes at bay. When he left, all of these assholes that are kept are all over the place and they turned this country into a shithole.

  3. meh. The Philippines has been a shithole at least since the Spaniards invaded. They wrote quite a bit about how hopeless the Filipinos were … 400 years ago. Considering they’d invaded a whole bunch of other countries and must have been familiar with the typical reaction of subjugated peoples, the Filipino reaction must have been completely unexpected. As far as I can tell from the historical records, the Filipinos mostly ignored the fact that they’d been occupied and just carried on doing what they do best (ie., annoying each other, fighting, and stealing).

I think it’s important to realise that it took Europeans 500 years to reach a modest level of civilisation (that is, 500 years ago, Europe looked a lot like the Philippines, or possibly a bit worse). If Filipinos can do it faster than that, they deserve a pat on the back. But considering they’ve got a few examples to borrow from, they seem a bit slow on the uptake.

  4. We failed to either jailed or executed against the Marcos clans right after the EDSA Revolution & then the Filipinos are still undisciplined, weak, dumb & divided. This is the end result on that revolution, its a dummy revolution with no REAL change & justices after the 20 years of Marcos dictatorship.

Unlike in a Eastern European country of Romania where the Romanians successfully toppled down their ruthless dictator Nicholas Ceausescu & they even executed him & his wife in December 1989. After that event, Romania is now a developed/industrialized country & even a member of the European Union or EU. That’s what you call a REAL revolution!!! The Romanians had shown to the world on what the REAL “People Power” means unlike us!

    1. What happened in 1986 is a sham. Cory should also be blamed because she hates Marcos so much she didn’t allow the late dictator to be charged in a court of law. We all know that she and her cohorts are also crooks, hailed as ‘heroes’.

  5. The YellowTards tactic of frightening people, with Marcos Martial Law is not working. The tactic of demonizing Marcos and his family is not working, anymore. What else can they do, to cover up their failures and corruption in governing our country ?

The Aquino Cojuangco political axis, came into power, with the help of the U.S./C.I.A. and the U.S. Dept. of State. They were supported by the Communist Party of the Philippines, and the Roman Catholic Church.
What are their accomplishments ? More than 30 years of widespread corruption; feudal oligarchs; family and political patronage; COMELEC SMARTMATIC HOCUS PCOS; DAP; PDAF; Pork Barrel Fund bribery; Dengvaxia vaccine murders/corruption; Typhoon Yolanda Fund disappearance; massacres; Mamapasano massacres; incompetence; Hacienda Luisita fraud; etc…

If you complain about Marcos Martial Law. You can go and , drag and torture, Juan Ponce Enrile and Fidel Ramos. They were the implementors of Marcos Martial Law. They can tell you more than you can listen to, about Marcos Martial Law. Why are these two “evil people”, not touched by Marcos Martial Law crybabies ?

The Aquino Cojuangco political axis, wants to Monopolize their Political Power in the Philippines. This is the reason, they use Marcos as their “bogeyman” to frighten people. And use the Marcos era alledge corruption, as a cover to their worse corruption and incompetence ! Do not tie us with your Stupidity. It does not work in this Age of Information Technology !

  6. The Liberal Party , the Aquino Cojuangco political axis, and the YellowTards, cheating in the 2016 national election is unforgivable.

The HOCUS PCOS, SMARTMATIC. The former COMELEC Chief, Andrews Bautista, having several bank accounts, with multimillion pesos, is unexplainable. The money can be tied up with the election cheating.

The election of Leni Robredo, as Vice President is an assault to the will of the Filipino people. The sabotage of the recounts of votes, is to frustrate the will of the Filipino people. The Aquinos want to monopolize powers for themselves. And, they are talking about: Democracy, Human Rights and Freedom.

These evil people, has already disenfranchised the will of the Filipino electorate. This is more serious crime than what Marcos Sr. or Pres. Duterte, may had committed.

Remember this, on the next election. Guard the ballots. Abolish COMELEC, that is the source of frauds. There is nothing good that came out of COMELEC.

  7. It’s becoming apparent that we have a lot of Armchair Generals in the Philippine Internet-Sphere, just go take a quick look at Reddit r/Philippines, there’s really a lot of blame towards the Marcoses over and over, even the ones who are tangentially connected to them, like a bunch of High School bullies, if you don’t denounce them, you’re part of the problem. And you can take a look and say that these Leftist Liberal Filipinos have 3-4 generations of Marcoses to blame in the future, sins of the father be damned with these losers who seek to simplify the problem of ingrained Filipino Corruption that did not start under Ferdinand Marcos and did not disappear when he was ousted and replaced with the Aquinos.

  8. One of the bigger mistakes of our time, I suppose, was preaching the demonization of all judgment without teaching how to judge righteously. We now live in an age where, apart from the inability to bear even good judgment when it so passes by, still everyone, inevitably, has a viral opinion (judgment) about everything and everyone, but little skill in good judgment as its verification or harness.
