BREAKING COMMENTARY

Charges of sedition have been filed against against key Opposition personalities including “vice president” Leni Robredo.

Prosecutors will allege that Robredo and cohorts had a hand in the gone-viral video series “Ang Totoong Narcolist” that tagged President Rodrigo Duterte’s family in the drug trade.

Peter Joemel Advincula (a.k.a. the character “Bikoy” in the video series) serves as key witness of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.

BREAKING COMMENTARY

Opposition “thought leaders” continue to spruik the notion that “press freedom” in the Philippines is “under attack”.

They pull strings amongst their allies in the foreign media and take advantage of their ignorance with regard to the local on-the-ground situation in the Philippines to persuade them to write “reports” that are aligned with their agendas and narratives.

It is more likely that these stalwarts of old-school “journalism” are merely in the throes of a monumental tantrum, unable to come to terms with the reality that the media landscape is changing and the foundations of their once-comfy ascendancy being pulled right out from under their feet.
