On Remembrance Day, Filipinos are called to be CRYSTAL CLEAR about what they FIGHT for

Lately, we’ve been seeing Filipinos chiming in on the the occassion of Remembrance Day. Remembrance Day (sometimes known informally as Poppy Day) is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth of Nations member states since the end of the First World War to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty. Following a tradition inaugurated by King George V in 1919, the day is also marked by war remembrances in many non-Commonwealth countries. Remembrance Day is observed on 11 November in most countries to recall the end of hostilities of World War I on that date in 1918. Hostilities formally ended “at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month”, in accordance with the armistice signed by representatives of Germany and the Entente between 5:12 and 5:20 that morning. (“At the 11th hour” refers to the passing of the 11th hour, or 11:00 am.)

While it is good that Filipinos are participating in the commemoration of those who had served and died with honour in the Great War, it is important that Filipinos too look inward and reflect on their regard for their own fighting men and women. War memorials and dates that commemorate great battles and the people who fought and contributed to their countries’ effort to put up a good fight figure prominently in the cultural fabric of great nations. Filipinos need to consider whether commensurate honour is accorded to the efforts of their men and women in uniform to defend their way of life, their territories and national interests, and the security and wellbeing of the public.

Soldiers, above all, fight and are prepared to do so in the most real and most tangible sense. They are trained to kill and destroy the enemy and are armed with weapons that require aiming at specific targets to effectively achieve that end. The duty of soldiers is to fight. That statement offers no ambiguity in what it means to fight. Soldiers fight in order to achieve specific objectives that contribute to winning a battle that determines the outcome of a war that results in ends of clear national consequence. As such, people of societies with strong martial traditions are a people who are consistently clear about who they fight, when to fight, and what they fight for when called to fight.

Clear, concise, and complete.

Filipinos who served or underwent ROTC and Citizen’s Military Training will have been fully-appraised on the importance of these three C’s that describe how the military communicates. We see this in the economical use of words used in the message in very Commonwealth war memorial: Lest we forget. This is really all that the average soldier who dies with his or her buddies — often in the anonymity of a violent moment — and his or her family ask of us — that we remember.

Remembrance Day is not relevant to most Filipinos. This specially considers that theirs is a society that routinely demonises their fighting men and women for the purposes of propping up the ill-conceived notion of a Laban (“fight”) that is but a sad pale shadow of what a true fight is in the real sense of that word. But we see today an opportunity to reflect on our own regard for our military men and women. Do Filipinos deserve soldiers who harbour an unconditional preparedness to fight and die for them? To answer that question requires Filipinos to take stock of all the facts about their society and culture and the amount of time and resources they put into remembering — and sustaining a state of acute awareness of — what it means to be a real soldier who fights real battles.

  1. My family have contributed great grand fathers, grandfathers, father, uncles, cousins, relatives ; since the fight for Philippine Independence to World War II, to the present. Some of my family, had died for the cause. They did not hesitate to serve our country in times of need.

The Aquino Cojuangco political axis, “Laban fight”, is nothing but a political concoction of the U.S./C.I.A., to oust the then, sitting , Pres. Marcos, Sr. The 1986 EDSA coup d’ etat would had not succeeded without the turncoats: Enrile and Ramos. Most of all the power of the American military.

To claim that it was a victory of the Aquino Cojuangco political axis “Laban fight”, is just ridiculous !

We salute all those who died and those who sacrificed in the War for Philippine Independence, World War I, World War II, and on the existing political conflicts in our country. May their sacrifices, be not be in vain for us younger generation !

    1. Those who “sacrificed” in the war of Philippine Independence died in vain.

Jose Rizal like some of Philippine Literary Greats died because of what they wrote. Remember, not only Jose Rizal ! Since U.P. Historians wrote the history of the Philippines U.P. Historians get to pick their own objects and subjects. FAKE HISTORY.

Gen. Aguinaldo was a Fake Hero. Fake President. Fake Father of Philippine Independence. If Gen. Aguinaldo was alive today he’d be charged for corruption, selling the Philippines and the Filipino people.

A U.S. Marine Private would never ever sell the Philippines and have the gorillas surrender their arms like Gen. Aguinaldo did. After the arms were surrendered Spain gave him Mexican Gold to travel first class to Hong-Kong.

In the advent of internet many bright boys (non-Filipino, of course) found the lunacy of Gen Aguinaldo’s sell out to Spain at fire sale.

When Historians “found out about it” that it was making rounds in the internet, they changed the story. Yes, Virginia, they changed the story to make Gen Aguinaldo not a crook but a hero. The story goes he accepted the money (after his gorillas surrendered their arms) so he will buy them arms !!! LUNACY AT ITS BEST. Filipinos take it hook line and sinker BUT I DO NOT because I am not a Filipino.

It was silly cover-up. And those silly historians should be hanged in Luneta.

  3. In EDSA Fake Revolution who were the Filipinos fighting against from? MARCOS CRIME FAMILY? Or …

… were they protecting the protectors of Marcos Crime Family? ENRILE-RAMOS-HONASAN?

… Or was it a Revolution of Usisis?

To this day POLITICAL ANALYSTS from yesterday to this day have not definitively answered my question.

Were they at EDSA to USISI? As spectators not as revolutionaries? As Filipinos are all aware … when there is a fender bender FILIPINOS GATHER LIKE IT WAS A REVOLUTION to Usisi so when they get home they’d be the first to break their broken news.

Did El Felibusterismo and Noli Me Tangere really ignited the fervor for war? There were only less than 2,000 books published. It was in Spanish because Jose Rizal was a snob. Speaking and writing in Tagalog is low-class like all Filipinos of today they’d rather speak English because English got class.

So, 2,000 books. All understood by the revolutionaries? Or this is just plain crap history by Filipinos like that Gen Aguinaldo who is nothing but a low-IQ dumb crook.

      1. I CAN’T BLAME YOU, DM-the-Wise. You put me in a pot along with Filipinos. Just because Filipinos do not read history the world’s population do not read somebody country’s history, too? I can’t blame you. You are just exercising your Filipino-ness in you.

        1. Youre HYPER EMOTIONALISM, troll behavior and bad grammar lead to believe your a self-hating flip (or the dumbest white boi alive). You aint fooling anyone son.

          Suck a BBC!

More like you’re fooling yourself. Because this post talks more about you, son.

          You’re totally inconsistent.

        3. I HIT A NERVE ON DARTH … he is not wise after all … now came out the “troll” vocabulary … next will be “retard” … then “mental” … then “gay” … “bad grammar” “bad English” . “Eng-get” “jealousy” … HEARD THAT ALL BEFORE. 100% of the time they are brown skin trying-hard-to-write-English brown skin Filipinos.

Filipinos always attacks a person’s English grammar when they have nothing more to say … BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO WRITE AND SPEAK LIKE AMERICANS … too bad ….. You have to be born and bred American to speak and write like me.

… this is what happens when a person who posts impeccable English and exuding logic that supplanted their illogical comment …

TRULY FILIPINO … I do not need to apologize … because Filipinos are like Darth. TOO BAD.

My comments are for intelligent people only … I post to open what the Filipinos do not want to hear and read ….

No matter how many sacks of rice you have to eat you still cannot comment like me, speak like me and rational like me. What I can prescribe to you is go to the highest building in Makati and throw yourself out. That should cure your jealousy.

      2. Oh, hey, Boy … Filipinos are nobody in my country … you cannot even utter “Boy” before our policeman … once we turn on our christmas lights … you pull-over … you roll down the windows … two hands at 2o’clock … and smile … “errrr, Officer, I am tough in the Philippines but I am not tough in your country …. even bodyguard of Manny Pacquiao when your white policeman placed his hands on his shoulder he calmed down like a kitten. What did I do wrong officer?”

That is what is so funny about you Filipinos … when you come to my country you are nobody … you are tough and abusive to your fellow Filipinos but when you are before me … you tremble and you lose your English …

Aha! ha! ha! ha! My Pinay GF is laughing at my comment … Hey, I do not know Filipino culture that well but my Pinay GF told me what to post … because she said Filipino trolls, like you, do not understand American pleasantries … Filipino trolls only understand the FILIPINO WAY !!!

AHA! HA! HA! HA! HAR! HAR! HAR!

  4. Some nation think that national security can be achieved by improving the educational system of the country, thus the government finance budget tend to be more bias on education rather than on military, but there are other nation like the Phillipines who think otherwise.

    1. And the military/soldiers do not need to be educated?

Education is (the) key for any country that wants to prosper. But the way you think is: Keep the people dumb and stupid. Well, isnt that already what is happening?

      1. Pilipinos do not need to get a higher education or learn sciences, since there will always be heroes, martyrs and saints to depend upon, heaven sent(mga hulog ng langit) from no other than God.

      2. Yes, that is what is already happening. RAPPLER IS NOT DOING THEIR DUTY TO DUMB FILIPINOS DOWN MORE … Also many thanks to U.P. P.M.A. Ateneo & la Salle …

      3. @Robert Haighton

Sadly the Philippines is filled with DUMB smart people. Folks like Benign0 who like to “philosophize” and “think” of ideas but are lazy to do the ACTUAL WORK when verifying their claims. Solutions in the country often go this way. Which is why every government administration has its own “solutions” and the tambays drinking beer in the sari-sari store have a million solutions to the Philippines woes. The opinions of the tambays and benign0’s are the same quality.

        NO DATA! Just psedo-intellectual MASTERBATION!

        BOL!

More like the Philippines HATE critical smart people. They hate efficiency and they hate intellectualism and they even hate ideas. In case you don’t notice, all of the smart people are gone because they economically speaking, they can never do anything because of the archaic economic system provided by our current constitution.

And by comparing the author and the “tambays” being the same quality, well, look who’s talking. You’re just as the same as any noisy left-leaning activist so your quality is not just “tambay” but also “utak squatter”, which is much worse.

And here we go with your “NO DATA” whining right there. You just want to propagate lazy thinking and you just want to shut down people for raising their opinion because they have no “proof”. That’s a 5 year old’s thinking of the stupid “opinion IS fact and vice-verse”.

          That’s not how it works.

  5. Philippine society is right to be wary of people with guns. For whatever reason, the military/ police force in the country is incredibly mis-behaved. From all the countless coups, corrupt generals and MARTIAL LAW it makes sense the military isnt as celebrated. Similar to Germany where because of the history of NAZI , military and overt patriotism is downplayed.

The REAL heroes, are those who risked their lives at EDSA to gain DEMOCRACY for the country. Unfortunately, the FREEDOM fought for on that faithful day is being abused in the most deprived way possible. You know without EDSA, GRP wouldn’t exist. No one can say anything bad against DEAR LEADER.

GRP as a paid hack site of the MARCOS is trying to REWRITE history armed with its army of sheeeple and the FAKE TITS of mocha unson. GRP wants the military and martial law, fake disguised as DISCIPLINE.

    DONT FALL FOR IT!!!

This is such a HYPEREMOTIONAL post coming from you. Trolling and shitposting all rolled into one.

You love to overrate the corrupt generals and countless coups but putting martial law with freaking caps lock makes your intents questionable. So perhaps we should never honor the SAF 44 and the soldiers defending Marawi, right? At least these acts make the military redeemable.

You’re lying about EDSA, son. You seem to ignore the aftermath after 1986. And yes, freedom is abused by putting off things like RESPONSIBILITY and DISCIPLINE. And nope, GRP would still exists even w/o EDSA as long as we are like Singapore and our culture is not dysfunctional at best. That is exactly what happened after EDSA: that people have freedom but became stupid. It’s not even a choice but easily ingrained on every single Filipino brain through media.

And lastly, Dilawan Mortis is an actual paid hack by AQUINO-COJUANGCO and LIBERAL PARTY. Nobody here is trying to rewrite history but adding something to it rather than being thoroughly one-side and biased. You have your own army of Yellow Sheeple and you’re always armed with the vile and vicious Yellow Media (ABS-CBN, Inquirer, Rappler, etc.) and propagating wolves in sheep clothing like Florin Hilbay and Jover Laurio. Dilawan Mortis wants mediocrity, anarchy and chaos, disguised as DEMOCRACY and FREEDOM.

No one is falling for your bullshit, Dilawan.

      1. @D4C

Lol. What a DUMMY. You PAID HACK of the Marcoses.

The sad part is the philippines WAS ALREADY like Singapore. Philippines was the 2nd richest country in Asia before Martial Law turned the economy into a TOILET. The Marcoses made of with the country’s BILLIONS in gold bars, all hidden in swiss accounts.

How much is that money worth in 2018 pesos?!?!?! Even invested a little, that would have turned the philippines into a CAPITAL abundant country.

Ferdinand Marcos is dead yet you are still SUCKING his dick. Hope they PAID you well you CRONY. May your soul burn in hell for the sake of the country.

Lies. Says the ACTUAL dummy who is an ACTUAL paid hack of the Aquinos.

What you’re blabbering about is nothing but HALF-TRUTH. It was after 1986 where the economy turned into a toilet. Thanks for admitting that you literally have NO IDEA about the 1987 Constitution and its thoroughly non-progressive policies. And still, you’re clueless about the Marcos ill-gotten wealth as if it was a simple issue, when it’s not.

Yeah, Ferdinand Marcos is dead but you’re still EMO about it. So you, son, are continually HATE-SUCKING his dick. Oh yeah, you’re soul is already burning in hell for allowing yourself to be swallowed by the lies and the half-truths of the Yellows, which lasted for over 30 years.

  6. FILIPINOS ARE AFRAID OF SPANISH INDUSTRIALISTS … those white people descendants of “hated” Spanish colonists that still speaks Spanish ….

After several weeks in this website the attack is on their FELLOW BROWN SKIN punk’d nose Filipinos. BROWN SKIN FILIPINOS ARE FAIR GAME not the left-behind Spanish Colonists whose forefathers are demonized by Filipino History High School & College Textbooks.

    WHY?

Because they found out Spanish Colonists came to Philippines with good intentions. They are intelligent. Hardworking. Incorruptible. Present and past Filipinos never heard in the newspapers Spanish Colonists corrupted. Just ask Liberal Rappler. Ask Inquirer and their OP-Ed columnists. They never attacked Spanish industrialists. Not “NEVER” because they have not heard gossips of them ever corrupting BECAUSE SPANISH COLONISTS-TURNED -INDUSTRIALISTS ARE INCORRUPTIBLE.

Fair game are those Sari-Sari Store magnate. The brown skin.

  7. FILIPINOS ARE FUZZY WHAT THEY FIGHT FOR … Filipinos are not crystal clear what they fight for because FAKE NEWS MAKE THE NEWS FUZZY OR SWAYED TO FAKE NEWS BIASES …

If Filipinos news diet is coming from the PHILIPPINE FAKE NEWS without mixing it with foreign news … FILIPINOS ARE DOOMED TO HAVE CATARACT …

  8. The events of that day would forever be remembered, and they stood together as a united people, a nation that would lead in innovation and benevolence, taking up the thread that had been left for them, the essence of selfless love woven along a national loom.
