First version (as at 1-ish a.m. 24th Jul 2009) is a quick-and-dirty pass over all googled site (links under the candidates' names are reviewed sites). Content on the page represents material that readily stood out in the sweep. For all those wondering about Villar, yes I've been through his stuff. He’s actually got the flashiest website among the candidates (the best that money could buy is the likely case here). Unfortunately for him I came up with zilch on my first safari into his stuff. Then again, money spent does not necessarily equate to substance delivered. |

i think a separate section on graft and corruption would be in order.
i'm hoping discussions on the issue would center on identifying where graft and corruption occurs and how these loopholes can be plugged. |

Another column in the chart, maybe. I wouldn't be expecting much in the way of substance, though, but it would be interesting to see what sort of spin they address the issue with.

I dunno, guys. Combatting graft and corruption is supposedly a routine law enforcement activity and also a function of the quality of processes and practicality of controls applied to said processes.
I don't think there will be much variance around this field across candidates.

I think you have gone overboard, treating platform as if it were an infallible acid test. To listen to a candidate speak about his platform as intently as you would when given the chance to hear Jesus telling gospel truth, is simply naivete. Firstly, if it's pretty much balanced, covering all facets of governance, then it reeks of at least a team of think-tanks' fingerprints. Secondly, a brilliant platform is still just a road map. It is a good plan but nevertheless, just a plan. Hindrances and impediments such as political pressure and human frailty does not figure in the plan.
A job applicant will always tend to be all-embracing in projecting his prospective contributions since he is in a persuasive stance. The only validation that assures any employer is performance. Thus, it is only through the framework of performance where platform graduates from theory to praxis. A candidate's execution ability should be a matter of historical record, not a prospective on-the-job training stint. |

A platform is an action plan. It is a guide to achieve an objective. In every undertaking, there MUST be a game plan, whereby strategies, budgets, resources and evaluation & control are incorporated. One cannot construct a high-rise building without an architectural plan. I laid out my cards to be transparent. I may not have the political experience for governance, but my sincerity to save our country is my driving force... to fulfill a mission. There is NO guarantee that an experience Candidate will become a good President. We are witnesses of the past regimes where most of them have overwhelming historical experiences & qualifications… the more experience, the more violations and corruptions. I admire a plain housewife with NO government experience but became a good President... truly honorable. I believe that destiny will prevail…with my faith, using my heart not mind. |
