The FAILED November 25 anti-Marcos rally at the Luneta

When will these hipsters learn? Warm bodies out pumping fists in an outdoor love-in versus an alleged social media “troll army” out to “weaponise” the Internet from comfy air-conditioned offices? Anti-Marcos protestors would like to believe the old ways of doing things supposedly representing the righteous camp in this political conflict necessarily triumph at the end of the movie.

This is ironic coming from a people who beam with pride when their country is referred to as the “outsourcing capital of the world” — a country supposedly conquering the world one BPO at a time. It is testament to the reality creeping up on us that labour-intensive is out and digital is in. Indeed it is interesting the way the nation’s “millenials” and even their kiddie brothers and sisters had been conscripted into these 1980s-styled ocho-ocho rallies. These are, after all, the digital generation (we are told by a bevy of “social media experts”). Yet, here they are claiming to be on the victim end of a supposed online conspiracy to “cyberbully” the lights out of their quaint revolutionary rehash.

Here are the facts. Buck for buck, online activism wins more voters — at least in American-styled “democracies”. This was proven by the victory of President Rodrigo Duterte and Donald Trump in these last elections in the two bastions of that form of government on the Eastern and Western sides of the planet respectively. Couple that new online power with a hipster culture indoctrinated in old romantic notions of what “being right” looks like and you’ve got that perfect storm that the losing side now prefers to call the “weaponised Internet”.

In yesterday’s anti-Marcos rally held at the Luneta, you can behold that puny bang for lots of buck on exhibit. Whereas real activists of yore hand-painted their own protest placards, these hipsters came with glossy mass-produced paraphernalia. The only folk that won that day were their suppliers (whose businesses are likely owned by the usual mob of Yellow oligarchs). They’re all laughing all the way to the bank.

  1. To all you stupid G-D-SOBs “activists-protesters”…We say this…

You are all misleading one another, and are yourselves deceived. The sun does not go round the earth, but the earth goes round the sun, revolving as it goes, and turning towards the sun in the course of each twenty-four hours, not only Japan, and the Philippines, and Sumatra where we now are, but Africa, and Europe, and America, and many lands besides. The sun does not shine for some one mountain, or for some one island, or for some one sea, nor even for one earth alone, but for other planets as well as our earth. If you would only look up at the heavens, instead of at the ground beneath your own feet, you might all understand this, and would then no longer suppose that the sun shines for you, or for your country alone.

  2. Question, can you compare the Philippines to the USA when talking about presidential elections? The answer is no. In the USA Clinton won popular vote of the people. If the election between Trump and Clinton was in the Philippines where there is a true democracy where every vote counts. Clinton would be the president not Trump. Rizal would not be a hero in the USA, because the Philippines never won their freedom from Spain, like the USA did from England or the many other colonies did that were under Spanish rule. This is why people must do things their own way. Protest do work in the USA, when it is a matter that grab the attention of the entire country and have people unite behind it. This works in the USA to this day still. The problem with these protesters is Pinoy time. Marcos lived in exile and nobody cared to address the law. He died and nobody cared to protest the law or do anything in reasonable time. Today as it stands there once again is nobody looking at how to change law for the future. Pinoy time is what caused this problem. Most of these same protesters will go back to classes on Monday and will attend classes where teachers are late or students are late, because it is acceptable, because once again it is Pinoy time. I attend a university here and it amazes us foreigners that our classes end and start at the same time in different building across the campus. The youth are being trained right now that time does not matter by the adults of this country. The youth and the adults then wonder why so many things are going wrong embracing your cultural heritage does not mean that we have to keep our ways when we know that something like Pinoy time has no logic in it and destroys the nation.

    1. I would just like to add one more thing that would relate on what you’ve said about “PINOY TIME”. As you have said “something like Pinoy time has no logic in it and destroys the nation” very true and the thing that would probably cause it would be Negligence.

Pure Negligence of all the things relating to this country. No one or at least the majority (99%) of the people really truly care about the country. Their actions don’t seem to back up when they say they are pro Philippines. #justsayin

  3. A young man, a protester, from mla science high school was interiewed yesterday. He was saying like ‘… nararamdaman pa natin ang pasista….’ something to that effect. What the ….. does he even understand what he’s saying? Fascist what? They mouth statements that i don’t think they fully understand.

why do the organizers, these leftists legislators even use our young students to fight their battles? These legislators occupied positions in government, why didn’t they do something about it. This marcos issues has festered for the longest time. Will it ever end? I believe the the common tao have grown, have become apathetic.

Yes, educate them about our country’s history etc. But educate them properly. For the life of me, what is happening to our country!

Why can’t we just move forward. Learn from the past to build a better future dor our people.

  4. never before the yellow dynasty became beleaguered. the fall of their dynasty is clear. this battle is ‘over their death body’ they will fight to last for sure. they will never give up on hacienda luisita. it’s their last battle ground.

  5. Only an independent Truth Commission on the Marcos MARTIAL RULE, assassination of Aquino Sr., and what really happened in February 22, 1986 will enlightened the young generation of Filipinos. There are so many things written as “history” that have to be corrected for this country to be united.

The independent Truth Commission should be composed of people NOT identified with the Marcos loyalists, Yellowtards and DU30tards !!!!

      1. @Amir Al Bahr The problem with the Truth Commission that was declared by the SC during the Arroyo years was politically motivated.

This Truth Commission about the Marcos years and the real reason why Marcos was ousted so “easily” (although if they was one rashness [the fact was both sides were terrified, the pro Marcos and pro Cory knew that one shot fired would trigger a full blown civil in Metro Manila]. Enrile would not run to Camp Aguinaldo for Cory and the Peter Cayetano, the father of Allan Peter would not be to frightened that practically he made his “Ultimo Adios” to his son, Allan Peter.

Cory’s objective then was to bring this country to chaos no matter what just to bring down Marcos. They (those who desperately wanted to bring down Marcos) knew Marcos was very superstitious that Ninoy had to come home on a 21st of the month.

I am for a Truth Commission because there is a danger that the US led by globalist George Soros and the promoters of unbridled free enterprise will do what they did to Ukraine.

Who would die and suffer for a coming chaotic situation fanned by those oligarchs too afraid of the comeback of the Marcoses, those same oligarchs who benefited during the time of Marcos ? It is the millennial generation who never knew how terrified Metro Manilans were could only pray during those uncertain days from February 7 (Snap Election) to February 21, 1986.

I just hope those military personnel who were the human rights violators themselves but were glorified in EDSA86 for their “stand” against Marcos.

Gringo Honasan should lead the way to ask forgiveness for his sins to those victims of military atrocities on “legal” orders of Marcos. The Left who “lunatically” boycotted the Snap Election were the most noisy thereafter.

The bloodless EDSA86 happened except for the overzealous Col Mariano, Col Alfredo Lim, etc shooting down that helpless sentry of that TV Channel tower because Marcos hesitated on the early afternoon of February 22 who could not believe his trusted Enrile had the courage to defy him.

        1. Truth and Reconciliation worked in South Africa, because there was Apartheid. The Blacks or the Africans, were discriminated in their own country.

In the Philippines, during Martial, it was a struggle between Anarchy of the subversives; and Law and Order imposed by the government of Marcos Sr.

If Truth and Reconciliation is done in our country. Two people are responsible…during Martial. Former Defence Minister Juan Ponce Enrile, and former Philippine Constabulary Chief, Fidel V. Ramos…

All those who have grievances, will face these two people …Will they be willing to face their victims ?

The “Black Friday Protest” was held supposedly against “the hero’s burial of dictator Marcos.”

Those who protest should first read the law.

The original law, R.A. 289, approved June 16, 1948, is titled:

“An Act providing for a National Pantheon for Presidents of the Philippines, National Heroes and Patriots of the country.”
    http://www.chanrobles.com/republicacts/republicactno289.html#.WDkSEbJ97IU

The Board of National Pantheon (the Board) is to be composed of the following:

    — Secretary of the Interior (now DILG)
    — Secretary of Public Works and Communications
    — Secretary of Education and
    — Two private citizens to be appointed by the President of the Philippines with the
consent of the Commission on Appointments

One of the Board’s relevant “duties and responsibilities” under Sec. 2(a) is:

“(a) To determine the location of a suitable site for the construction of the said National Pantheon, and to have such site acquired, surveyed and fenced for this purpose and to delimit and set aside a portion thereof wherein shall be interred the remains of all Presidents of the Philippines and another portion wherein the remains of heroes, patriots and other great men of the country shall likewise be interred.”

Here, it is provided that the burial site — referred to as the “National Pantheon” — is mandated to be delimited into TWO separate and distinct “portions,” as follows:

Portion 1 — “Remains of all Presidents of the Philippines”; and
Portion 2 — “Remains of heroes, patriots and other great men of the country,”

The confusion concerning the use of the term “heroes” to designate the burial site arose six years later in 1954 when President Ramon Magsaysay issued Proclamation No. 86, dated October 27, 1954, titled:

“Changing the ‘Republic National Cemetery’ at Fort Wm McKinley, Rizal Province, to ‘Libingan Ng Mga Bayani’” (LNMB):
    http://www.lawphil.net/executive/proc/proc1954/proc_86_1954.html

    “WHEREAS, the name “Republic Memorial Cemetery” at Fort Wm McKinley, Rizal province, is not symbolic of the cause for which our soldiers have died, and does not truly express the nation’s esteem and reverence for her war dead;

“NOW, THEREFORE … shall henceforth be called “LIBINGAN NG MGA BAYANI.”

Take careful note that the reason behind the change in name of the burial site is to become “symbolic of the cause for which our soldiers have died” that would “truly express the nation’s esteem and reverence for her war dead.”

In other words, the change in name to “Libingan Ng Mga Bayani” refers SOLELY to —

Portion 2 — “Remains of heroes, patriots and other great men of the country,”

This is the separate portion set aside to include the remains of “our soldiers [who] have died” or “the nation’s … war dead.”

Hence, the change in name to “Libingan Ng Mga Bayani” was never intended to include —

Portion 1 — “Remains of all Presidents of the Philippines.”

Before declaring Martial Law in Sept. 21, 1972, Marcos was elected President of the Republic during the following national elections:

    (1) In 1965 with 3,861,324 or 51.94% of votes cast against Macapagal; and
    (2) In 1971 with 5,017.343 or 61.74% of votes cast against Osmena.

There were two other presidential elections he claims to have won (1981 and 1986) but the results were questioned since they were held during Martial Law.

In any case, having been elected TWICE earlier as President; his remains more than qualify to be interred in that portion reserved solely for “ALL Presidents of the Philippines.”

To minimize controversy, President Duterte should issue a Proclamation naming Portion 1 of the burial site as the “Pantheon of Presidents of the Republic.”

  7. When will these idiot YellowTards learn that: ALL FILIPINOS WHO FOUGHT IN OUR WARS ARE HEROES AND DESERVE TO BE BURIED WITH MILITARY HONOR AND IN THE LIBINGAN NG MGA BAYANI!

The Aquino Cojuangco political axis did not have enough HAKOT DEMONSTRATORS, to give impact to their messages. Their tenants/serfs in their Hacienda Luisita refused to participate, because they now own the lands they till…

The anti Marcos, Sr. burial, just fizzled out. There were some YellowTard Priests, who were politicized…however, they were just ignored !

      1. @S-Tambay:

They were not even born during Martial Law, or during Marcos Sr. reign, as President.

All they should do is: drag Fidel Ramos and Juan Ponce Enrile…these two people played major roles, during the Marcos era. Question them thoroughly; or sue them in the Court of Law.

However, these YellowTards, enjoy shouting anti Marcos slogans. “Parang gustong sumikat sila !” Maybe they enjoy also their pay as professional activists and professional demonstrators (Hakot Demonstrators)…

  8. should ninoy and cory be qualified to be interred within portion2 at the LNMB for their patriotism? how about at the Manila Memorial Park?

    1. With what these two people had done to this country. They could be interred in the Dog’s cemetery or in the monkey’s cemetery !

      1. 467Hyden007Toro999999.99
More precisely inside Cubao araneta coliseum underground is the best place to rest any yellow axis as cemetery

  9. these paid rallyist for the yellows really after a pesos given to them. they don’t really get it former DOJ singing inside bilibid prison. now for some more pesos they’re instructed to shout marcos not a hero. is that their way of living? that’s betrayal to their motherland now becomes drug cartel of the orient. president duterte’s supporters should come out now and shout for federalism.

@ 5Toro007Hyden9999.999. It will be 31 years after EDSA86 this coming 2017. I was 31 then in 86, Buddy (PMA78) was 29, Ferdie was 39, the Aquinaldo Log Com Lt Col, Marcos godson and namesake, once Davao Congressman Ruy Elias and brothers Danny and Joey were still students then.

Those who claim they know Marcos Sr. well should know that in one of Marcos’s Fall of Bataan yearly extemporaneous speeches, he mentioned that he would like to “unmount” from the Tiger of Power without violence and precisely that was done for him in February 22, 1986 triggered by the suicidal withdrawal of support of a mediocre (as alleged by the Ver Camp then) miztah.

If those who claim that they know FEM well but do not know anything about Marcos’s obsession with modulo 7 must be lying or simply ignorant.

Ted Koppel said it best then when he said Marcos would be looked upon differently not as portrayed by those who were pushed to power without violence in 1986.

I am looking forward to the “strangest” celebration of EDSA86 next year. lol

Anyone here who can confirm Leah Salonga and her family were inside Malacanang rallying in support of the Marcoses during those most dangerous February 1986 ?

Just a proof that our country was hopelessly divided athen until the miracle happened. It was not because Cory was hiding or praying at the Pink Sisters convent in Cebu City. One can pray even for years and years but without positive action nothing will happen.

I am wondering until now whom God/the gods will support when people on opposing sides praying to him/them gods so earnestly for victory or salvation are about to kill each other.
